1964 Pontiac Grand Prix. # 894S21574. This is one of those cars I had to buy and when you see it you will agree. I bought this Grand Prix in Oregon and it is a one family owned car. I have the original sales invoice from Vic Bowman Pontiac in Oregon City. It was repainted once and I have a big stack of receipts. They striped it down and did great job block sanding so when you look at the photos notice the reflections. I did find a little bubbling on the lower rear fenders. That and the rear package tray has a bad spot in the right rear and right rear out side of the bumper has a spot are about the only flaws you'll find. They are all photoed for you to see. He did not have the receipts for the engine rebuild but on the rocker cover is the sticker for the company that rebuilt the engine. Transmission was rebuilt. This Pontiac has the 8 lug wheels and they are in excellent shape. It's now serviced and safety checked. I have to tell you it did not need much. Going over the receipts you can see why it's so nice. They always changed the oil and kept it right up to date. I have not had a Grand Prix in a long time. They have to have the best looking interior of most any car. It's the dash that jumps out at you. Lots of chrome. The out side lines are great too. They do not build them like this any more. You don't see a lot of them and none in the condition this one is in. The engine code 25K tells me it's a 389 cu.in. 303 HP. Engine with automatic transmission. The S in the VIN tag tells me it was built in South Gate, California. The 01D tells me it was built January in the 4th week. Trim code 270 tells me the interior color is Saddle. Paint code S tells me Saddle Bronze. Notice the 8 lug wheels, they really help set this car off. I have to say it again, this is one beautiful car. I believe the Grand Prix has one of the most beautiful dashes ever. Just a beautiful car! I remember the exterior color very well..a very dark blue...and the lighter blue interior is the perfect compliment. Note the vacuum gauge on the console...automatic transmission cars had that as opposed to the tachometer on manual shift cars. The owner added the tach on the left. He also added air conditioning (vents on both sides of the console) and cruise control! A perfect car for a cruise..the concave back window is a great stylistic touch!
