Taking another video from the amazing, ten hour endurance race of the 2011
Petit Le Mans. This was a race with both ALMS (American Le Mans) cars, as
well as the ILMC (Intercontinental Le Mans Cup) beasts.
In this video you can start to realize at least a percent of a fraction of
what the drivers of these amazing cars experience. Pitch-black racing with
nothing more than a beaten and bruised pair of headlights, barely hanging
on to battle-scarred paint and fenders. All over-taking, diving, and
driving was done in little to no light, as you can clearly see here.
With a measly 2 laps to go, and Audi nowhere to be seen, after almost 10
hours of racing, the safety car - which came in when there were about 5
laps to go - finally pulled into the pits and immediately the action heated
up one more time in the GT class as the Porsche and BMW initiated a heated
battle for 2nd place. Ferrari was quite comfortably in first, but second
was up for grabs as Porsche and BMW seemingly bumped and navigated back and
forth through traffic, fighting for first on those final two laps.
Watch and see the result, as well as the intensity of driving through a 2.5
mile long course, with 58 cars all there, and having nothing to guide you
through except war-torn headlights, adrenaline, and a desire to win.
2012 Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta - /TRACKSIDE
You know the drill guys. Bringing you closer to tens of thousands of horsepower, hundreds
of liters of engine displacement, countless fragments of shredded rubber,
unbelievable noise, and many miles traversed. This is TRACKSIDE at the 2012
Petit LeMans, Road Atlanta.
2011 Petit Le Mans - Road Atlanta - High speed flybys
Here are some highlights from my day at Road Atlanta for the 2011 Petit Le
Mans, the last race in the American Le Mans series. Some of these cars are
flying past me at over 200 mph, followed by heavy braking and downshifting
heading into turn 10.

Petit Le Mans - Road Atlanta - Sept. 26, 2009 (HD)
About 4 minutes of footage I shot at the 2009 Petit Le Mans. Race was
stopped a little over 4 hours into it on account of rain. I had only
filmed from 3 spots at that point so there isn't too much variety in the
action. This was the first real use of my new Canon HF S-100. I've edited
out my shaky footage (no tripod) but have not altered the video otherwise.
2011 Petit Le Mans - Dirk Werner - in-car
Spend some quality time around Road Atlanta with BMW Team RLL driver Dirk
Werner and the No. 55 M3 GT during practice for the 14th annual Petit Le
Mans. Having already clinched the Team and Driver championships, the team
is racing for a second consecutive Manufacturer's title for BMW and the
Tire crown for Dunlop. September 29, 2011
