Roadfly.com - 2012 Porsche Cayman R Test Drive & Car Review
The 2012 Porsche Cayman R was one of the most-anticipated cars to ever come
through the Roadfly office. The car's stats are simply stunning: 0-60mph
in 4.7 sec. 330hp @ 7500rpm, 2855 lb. Even the door handles have been
replaced with nylon tabs to reduce weight.
The results are predictable. The Cayman R is virtually telepathic, to the
point that it nearly bores you. It's so free of vice that you start to
feel that it's just like a normal, civilized car, with a tad more
immediacy...and you wonder what the big deal is. Only when you go back to
your daily driver do you realize how responsive the Cayman actually is.
It's a nearly perfect machine. It makes few compromises that interfere
with spirited driving, but still manages to be completely docile,
tractable, and even practical with its two trunks and stellar reliability.
It also gets great fuel mileage, at 19 city and 27 highway when equipped
with the 6-speed manual.
Ever gone to a movie that didn't blow you away at first, but weeks later
you're still thinking about it and can't get it out of your head? That's
what my days with the Cayman R left me with. This car is definitely on my
'short list' of cars I want to own before I die. It's slightly expensive
with a starting MSRP of $66,300, but given how well-built Porsches are in
general and how good their resale values are, the price is fair in my

2014 Porsche Cayman S! Is the Lightest Porsche Now the Best Porsche? - Ignition Ep. 73
On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago gets behind the wheel of the
newest iteration of Porsche's Cayman line, the 2014 Porsche Cayman S. After
some twisty road driving, Carlos meets up with pro driver Randy Pobst at
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to discuss the capabilities of the new Cayman on
the track. It's track ready, balanced, and can go from 0-60 in 4.2
seconds... but is it worth it's fully loaded six figure price tag?
First previewed on its Boxster platform-mate, and shown at last year's Los
Angeles Auto Show, the new Cayman looks more aggressive than its
predecessor. From the 918 Spyder-aping looks to the scalloped air intakes
on the doors to the silicone-injected hips, the car looks buffer. It's
larger, too. The wheelbase has been stretched by 2.4 inches, while the
overhangs on either end have been shortened by 10mm. Overall length is only
up 0.1 inch. The track has been widened 40/12mm front/rear.
Ignition appears every Monday on the Motor Trend youtube channel.

The guys get the chance to take a Cayman S on one of their favorite roads.
Is this the best "Everyday Driver" car on the market? Is this the best
Porsche? That depends on who you ask...
Porsche 911 VS. Porsche Cayman
We're taking a look at Porsche's tried and true 911 vs the Cayman to see
which vehicle will reign as Porsche's ultimate sports car. We're gathering
opinions from some guys who know sports cars best, including Patrick Hong
of Road & Track magazine, Shinoo Mapleton of Sector 111, and James Sofronas
of Global Motorsports Group. Including exclusive footage of both vehicles
on the race track and in the shop, you'll get the a complete look at the
differences between these two beasts.
Will the Porsche 911 turbo retain it's
spot as the leader of Porsche's sports car pack? Or will the Cayman inherit
the spot as the leader of Porsche's sport's car line.
