Sylvester Stallone's upcoming movie, "The Expendables," pays homage to the big action flicks of the 1980s and `90s, and will even include our own California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, in a cameo role. The film is set to feature a 1955 Ford F100 truck, which had to be fully restored for silver screen worthiness.
The customization experts at West Coast Customs would be the ones handling the restoration efforts. After calling upon WyoTech students Owen Lubenow, Rusty McClintock, and Matt Myers for assistance, the crew at WCC was able to churn out three fully restored 1955 Ford F100s: two for the movie itself and one for Stallone to keep. The ground-up restorations included metal fabrication work and the installation of a 347-cubic-inch Ford small block from ATK Engines, which reportedly put out 429 horsepower and 411 pound-feet of torque when fitted with an Edelbrock Total Power Package.
"The Expendables," written and directed by Stallone, features a full billing of all-star action actors, including Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, and more. The movie will be released on April 23, 2010.

This show piece 1956 Ford F100 Big Window is outstanding all the way around. From the front of its hood to the back of its tailgate this truck's pictures speak for themselves. Painted with custom Dupont Blue Chromasbase paint, it has color coordinated upholstery with color matched piping, A/Ta 350 motor w/performer cam, 750 Holly Street Avenger carburetor, Edelbrock Endurashine Performer Manifold, and an aluminum custom radiator. Other features include a 1979 Camaro front clip, 350 transmission, front disc and rear drum brakes, 1970 8" Cougar rear end, custom cut springs, custom cab skirt, extra wide rear tires on 15 inch American Racing Wheel, Vintage A/C and heat (air needs lines hooked up and charged but everything is there and in place, custom gauges, power windows, oak bed with stainless trim, no limit accessories including tilt hood, hidden radio and CD changer), custom molded fiberglass speaker enclosures, tilt steering, and Flow master Series 40 dual Exhaust. 1956 Ford F100 - In Primer--All Customization Done - $6,950 - SOLD!
An older gentleman has worked on this truck for many years. It's powered by a good solid rebuilt 302 motor, has a C-4 automatic transmission, its been subframed with a Mustang II front end, has Mustang II rack and pinion steering, has been boxed, has a rebuilt Ford 9" rear end, new shocks, new steel Exhaust, all the wiring is new, there is aftermarket tilt custom steering wheel, Lokar shift system, and aftermarket gauges.
This truck has been sanded and primered on, is virtually rust free, has a new seat and is a tough, stout old truck. Needs some TLC interiorly and in the bed, some more sanding and primer and then it will be ready to paint any color you want. It has new Performance GT Grand Prix tires on new red rallye wheels. New 11" disk brakes in the front, stock in the rear.
As is, this truck is fully drivable as you can see by the video and can be driven while you give it some TLC to finish its restoration and get it in shape to paint.
