The very famous Winged Express Fuel Altered piloted by Mike Boyd. Footage from many years, Includes that heart wrenching moment in 2005 when we watched the front wheel come off and the Wing hit the wall. Mike was okay, it was sad to see the Wing so badly damaged. One of the most iconic cars in drag racing history. The Wing was restored and is again doing what it does best!
Alaskan AA Fuel Altered crash
The Alaskan Grizzly Racing Team from Fairbanks run the Alaskan Grizzly AA/FA against their second AA/FA car named "Spare Parts" with Jamie & Marty Bodenstadt driving against each other at Alaska Raceway Park on July 1, 2012. Spare Parts car breaks loose hitting the wall and takes Marty on a wild ride. Go Pros were mounted on both cars for different views. This vid will show why you need safety gear and chassis to specs to protect the drivers. Marty came out of this unscathed.

Fuel Altereds - Gone But Not Forgotten
Pictures and movies that I took of some Fuel Altereds back in the '60s. The most evil handling cars known to man, the fuel altereds were banned by NHRA over 30 years ago. I was fortunate to get to see and photograph these beasts in action. If you are interested in the history of these legendary vehicles, check out these websites. 2010 HOT RODS & RACE CARS Car Show & Cacklefest: Pacers Fuel Altered
50 years ago, CHARLIE DODGE and GEORGE SNIZEK, Conceived, Constructed, and Raced, what became known as one of the Fastest and Most Beautiful Fuel Altereds in drag racing....
Wherever they went, the Snizek & Dodge Racing Team's roadster, aka the "TASMANIAN DEVIL", running out of their "PACERS AUTOMOTIVE" shop on Long Island, set speed records and took home best appearing awards. It quickly became a crowd favorite as well as a feared competitor and event winner at drag strips nationwide.
45 years later, a group of former Top Fuel drivers from Long Island got together and recreated that Icon of Speed which is seen above.
In just SIX months time, ROY MILLER, BILLY LYNCH, BERNIE SHACKER, DENNIS QUITONI, Pacers' original driver/co-owner, GEORGE SNIZEK, and George's son, SCOTT, have built a stunning, authentic nitro-fueled recreation of The Pacers original altered roadster which returns us all back to the drag strip in the middle of the 1960's.
Billy Lynch fired up the car at the 3rd Annual Hot Rods and Race Cars Show at East Neck Auto to the delight of many of its friends. In fact, he even had its original driver, George Snizek, in the seat and Charlie's family on hand which made it extra special.
It didn't matter if you weren't at the show because you probably heard it if you were anywhere in town. We even set the alarms off at the HSBC bank next door from the sound coming from The Devil.
The annual Long Island HOT RODS & RACE CARS Car Show and Cacklefest at East Neck Auto is always brings unique fun to the show. Being able to let the crowd experience-or-relive history is what its all about. It makes it extra special and entertaining for all.
