Roadfly.com - 2012 Nissan Versa
Nissan revealed the all-new 2012 Nissan Versa at the New York Auto Show. The stylish new Versa comes standard with fuel saving features like Nissan's new dual injector system and sub-planetary CVT transmission design. The new Versa isn't just stylish it's also very fuel efficient. It's expected combined city/highway fuel economy is 33 miles per gallon. The new Versa is small on the outside but big on the inside. A $10,990 starting M.S.R.P. and low cost of ownership allows the average consumer to enjoy this stylish new vehicle from Nissan. The new 1.6-liter engine is rated at 109 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm and 107 lb-ft of torque @ 4,400 rpm. The Versa Sedan is available with a 5-speed manual transmission (1.6 S model only) and with a next-generation Xtronic CVT™ transmission. The CVT allows continuous change of the transmission gear ratio by connecting the two pulleys with a metallic belt and changing their diameter by using hydraulic pressure. The new CVT design adds an auxiliary gearbox using planetary gearing, helping improve efficiency. Fuel economy for the 2012 Versa Sedan is estimated at 30 mpg City, 37 mpg Highway and 33 mpg Combined with the CVT transmission (27/36/30 mpg with the 5-speed manual transmission) (preliminary estimates). Roadfly.com - 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Road Test & Review
We finally had a chance to test drive the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. The MSRP starts at $63K and even at that price you get a ton of bang for your buck. Not to mention all that horsepower. 0-60 MPH on the CTS-V Coupe is 3.9 seconds. The supercharged V8 produces 556 horsepower. Roadflys review of the CTS-V Coupe confirms that Cadillac is going head to head against the best the Germans have to offer. The Cadillac CTS-V by just about every test beats the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG and BMWs M5. Roadfly.com - 2011 Ford Explorer Review & Test Drive
The 2011 Ford Explorer takes a huge evolutionary leap, transitioning from an old-school ladder-frame SUV to a modern, car-like crossover. I found it a willing partner for the suburban life, with the best 3rd-row stowing mechanism I could possibly have imagined, and decent fuel economy as well (nearly 20mpg observed, EPA rated 17/23). The chassis is rock-solid, and at high speed feels nearly as composed as some European luxury-performance utes I've recently tested. The 3.5L V6 makes 283hp and 252 lb.-ft. of torque, but is handicapped by a 6-speed "SelectShift" transmission that offers manual shift capability—-but only via a tiny rocker switch on the shift knob itself. It's a great start for Ford, with a few minor (and easily fixable) glitches. The NAV system for example is very comprehensive, but equally convoluted. A few tweaks here and there would produce a truly excellent product. -Ross Rapoport, Road Test Editor and Video Host Visit http://roadflytv.com for more pictures and a downloadable window sticker. Roadfly.com - 2012 Hyundai Accent
The all-new 2012 Hyundai Accent was revealed at the New York Auto Show. Hyundai is aiming to make serious headway in a subcompact class that is increasingly crowded and competitive—the Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa, and the new Ford Fiesta and Mazda2 all play in the same sandbox. Like the Versa and the Fiesta, the new Accent is offered as a 4-door sedan or a 5-door hatchback. The only engine is a 1.6-liter inline-four with direct injection, which manages 138 horsepower and 123 lb.-ft. of torque, and can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. The sedan will be the cheaper of the two, starting at $12,445. The hatches will be considerably more, starting at around $14,600. —Ross Rapoport, Road Test Editor and Video Host Vehicle: 2012 Hyundai Accent Base Price: $12,445 (est.)
