How to Rebuild a Turbo - Part 1 of 2
Rebuilding a td05h 16g turbo. This process can be applied to many journal bearing turbochargers. :) It definitely comes in handy to know how to do this when you are in this type of hobby. 4/25/12: Small explanation on the balancing of the rotating assembly since I get so many comments regarding it. This particular turbocharger, td05h, has its rotating assembly components balanced separately. This means each individual part (compressor wheel, turbine wheel/shaft) gets balanced separately. This allows for easy interchangeability of parts in case they need replacing. This is why I am able to install a td05 20g wheel on this turbo without having to balance the entire rotating assembly. THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR ALL turboS OUT THERE. You need to research whether your specific turbo (if it's not td05h) was balanced as an assembly or "component balanced" like I explained above. P0401 EGR Valve Port Cleaning
This is my DIY for clearing the CEL code P0401 (EGR Insufficient Flow) on a 98 Honda Prelude. In cars with OBD2 if the EGR valve is restricted by carbon deposits it will detect that and throw a CEL. To get rid of that CEL you must clean out the carbon to allow flow. After combustion occurs within the engine it creates Exhaust. Gas from the Exhaust straight from the engine is very bad for the air. The EGR valve recaptures that Exhaust and runs it through the combustion process again, which lowers the temperature of the fumes (Exhaust gas) and lowers the amount of pollution exiting into the atmosphere. If you don't fix it you won't pass SMOG in California. You may experience rough idling and poor acceleration. Tips: Get your "EGR port plugs" from Honda. They will have it. Removing the injectors are important to allow clearance to the port plugs. When you pull out the injectors you might as well clean them since they are out. Slide hammers make pulling the port plugs out easily. Drill with a bit the size of your tap. Drilling halfway through the port plug to should be enough distance to fully grab the port with the slide hammer. If after you clean your ports and valve the CEL has not been cleared, you EGR valve maybe faulty and needs to be replaced.

Quick Tip-Throttle Cleaning - EricTheCarGuy
This one goes out to BowlingBallOut who posted a question about a sticky throttle on his Saturn. It was a great question so I decided to make this video in response to it. There are many different configurations of throttle assemblies but for the most part if you have a throttle that is sticking you might be able to fix it using the procedures in this video. I am aware you may not able to purchase spray throttle cleaner in some states now but I'm sure they have some alternative available at your local parts store. One very important note here is that if you have a drive by wire throttle (DBW), then I do NOT recommend this procedure. If you perform this procedure on a DBW throttle body you may need to have the throttle reset in order to get your engine to idle or even start. I only recommend this procedure if you're trying to correct a problem with a sticking throttle. Kiedy podczas suwu sprężania tłok porusza się w górę, ciecz w komorze spalania będzie blokowała tłok. W wyniku tego może dojść do powstawania zamknięcia hydraulicznego, które może być przyczyną poważnego uszkodzenia silnika. Należy zawsze liczyć się z potrzebą natychmiastowego zamknięcia kolektora dolotowego w przypadku nagłego wzrostu szybkości obrotowej silnika. Dlatego też należy mieć pod ręką przygotowany odpowiednio mocny przedmiot, którym można zamknąć kolektor dolotowy. Ponieważ silnik pracuje na swoim własnym paliwie, a poprzez rozpylanie środka czyszczącego wprowadzane jest dodatkowe paliwo, obroty silnika mogą gwałtownie wzrosnąć. W przypadku nagłego wzrostu obrotów silnika należy natychmiast zmniejszyć ilość środka czyszczącego.
