Rebuilding a td05h 16g turbo. This process can be applied to many journal bearing turbochargers. :) It definitely comes in handy to know how to do this when you are in this type of hobby. 4/25/12: Small explanation on the balancing of the rotating assembly since I get so many comments regarding it. This particular turbocharger, td05h, has its rotating assembly components balanced separately. This means each individual part (compressor wheel, turbine wheel/shaft) gets balanced separately. This allows for easy interchangeability of parts in case they need replacing. This is why I am able to install a td05 20g wheel on this turbo without having to balance the entire rotating assembly. THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR ALL turboS OUT THERE. You need to research whether your specific turbo (if it's not td05h) was balanced as an assembly or "component balanced" like I explained above. Należy zawsze liczyć się z potrzebą natychmiastowego zamknięcia kolektora dolotowego w przypadku nagłego wzrostu szybkości obrotowej silnika. Dlatego też należy mieć pod ręką przygotowany odpowiednio mocny przedmiot, którym można zamknąć kolektor dolotowy. Ponieważ silnik pracuje na swoim własnym paliwie, a poprzez rozpylanie środka czyszczącego wprowadzane jest dodatkowe paliwo, obroty silnika mogą gwałtownie wzrosnąć. W przypadku nagłego wzrostu obrotów silnika należy natychmiast zmniejszyć ilość środka czyszczącego.

Quick Tip-Throttle Cleaning - EricTheCarGuy
This one goes out to BowlingBallOut who posted a question about a sticky throttle on his Saturn. It was a great question so I decided to make this video in response to it. There are many different configurations of throttle assemblies but for the most part if you have a throttle that is sticking you might be able to fix it using the procedures in this video. I am aware you may not able to purchase spray throttle cleaner in some states now but I'm sure they have some alternative available at your local parts store. One very important note here is that if you have a drive by wire throttle (DBW), then I do NOT recommend this procedure. If you perform this procedure on a DBW throttle body you may need to have the throttle reset in order to get your engine to idle or even start. I only recommend this procedure if you're trying to correct a problem with a sticking throttle. *** PLEASE READ *** In this video demonstration, I show how to get to, remove, clean, and replace the throttle body and idle air control motor (aka IAC) on a 4.2l ford motor. This procedure is the same for any fuel injected vehicle. * * * Check out my website krkvideos.com * * * The vans require removal of alot more stuff just to access the throttle body. A dirty IAC can cause a rough idle. A dirty throttle body can harm performance and cause rough engine operation. When the throttle body or iac is removed a new gasket must be used to properly seal the connection to the intake. GM idle air motors are generally mounted on the throttle body and can be cleaned without removal from the throttle body. This means one less gasket and a lesser chance of creating a vacuum leak. The ford throttle body had a note on it that said it was not to be cleaned because the coating on the throttle blade might be damaged. Thats fine for a new car but that has to be disregarded when working on something that has some miles on it. IAT - Intake Air Temperature - Measures the temperature of the air the engine is intaking. IAC - Idle air control - Controls the amount of air the engine is intaking while it is idling.
