bearings were fine.
We replaced the pistons, pots & rings. We had the valves redone and made
several upgrades along the way.....

1961 Ragtop Beetle rebuild
Here is months of footage, all rolled down into under 7 minutes, of me
rebuilding my 1961 Ragtop Beetle after an extensive restoration. It was off
the road around two years. I didn't film the whole restoration as that
could get quite boring but I have got all of the stages photographed which
you can find at www.volksworld.com.
I did pop a few photos in at the beginning of the video but stick with it
as the video goes pretty fast!

Some snaps taken during my last rebuild in 2006. Case, crank, pistons,

and all bearings were replaced. The tinware and ancilliaries were cleaned,
detailed and/or repainted.
