2014 Jeep Cherokee OFFROAD
The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk model exemplifies Jeep 4x4
capability with a distinctive, aggressive look, backed up by Jeep Trail
Rated hardware, for the most capable Jeep Cherokee model and the most
capable mid-size SUV in the segment. The Trailhawk includes as standard
equipment aggressive approach and departure angles, complements of the
unique front and rear fascias, one-inch factory lift, Jeep Active Drive
Lock with locking rear differential, skid plates and signature red tow
hooks. The locking rear differential is selectable in any low range terrain
mode, but will lock automatically when in certain modes, such as "Rock," to
maximize tractive effort at the tire patch that can support it.
The Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk boasts an approach angle of 29.8 degrees, a
departure angle of 32.1 degrees and breakover angle of 23.3 degrees.
Running ground clearance is 8.7 inches.
The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk model with the standard off-road
package is Trail Rated. The "Trail Rated" badge on the Jeep Cherokee
Trailhawk indicates that the vehicle is designed to perform in a variety of
challenging off-road conditions identified by five key consumer-oriented
performance categories: traction, ground clearance, maneuverability,
articulation and water fording.

ECORS - The Culmination
Mutiny Racing competiting in Class A of ECORS (www.ecors.com), The
Culmination, at Devil's Playground, in Silver Valley, NC.
We arrived Friday night, teched in and preran the course. Minus a steering
stabilizer mount coming loose, everything held up extremely well. We were
especially pleased with the IronMan4x4Fab Heavy Duty Control Arms. Those
jokers are beefier than anything on the market and have Johnny Joints
We camped that night and froze in the below freezing temperatures.
Next morning Class A kicked off around 9am with something like 19 rigs.
The Mustang injectors and
K&N intake helped off the line, but the transfer case refused to stay in 4
high, so we ran 9 of the 10 minutes in 2 wheel drive.
Ten minutes in, we came off a rock and got turned around headed down the
Class C course. While trying to reposition, the stubby side axle shaft in
the Dana 30 snapped and decided to take the WJ ball joint with it.
This race wrapped up Season 1 of ECORS. Class A is going to explode with
competitors next year, so get your rigs and cameras ready.
Thanks to IronMan4x4Fab, Scwhabe Offroad, and GoPro for the sponsorships.
Special thanks to my wife for putting up with my addition and to my mom for
codriving. We couldn't have done it without Redlyner's H3 recovery rig.
Rob, Ron, sponsors of ECORS and volunteers of ECORS all deserve special
thanks. None of this would happen without all the dedication, time and
effort you put forward.
