Each car costs about $30,000, sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with similar power outputs, and features a 6-speed manual transmission. The Subaru of course features a sporty version of the brand's "symmetrical AWD" while the Focus makes due with just the front wheels driven. 08 STI vs 09 WRX
Another old video that I just found. A quick comparison of my wife's stock 09 WRX versus my 08 STI when it was running Cobb's Stage 2 91 map, with 94 octane in the tank. Runs were done on the same day, same temps, same sections of road. The 09 WRX is very impressive. If you watch the video closely you can see how the stage 2 map on my STI has abrupt pauses in acceleration with each gear change, whereas the WRX pulls smoothly. My car was definitely faster but the gear changes sort of evened things out. There is something in the stage 2 91 OTS tune that causes this - not sure if it is ignition overrun or what but my more recent tunes have smoothed this out.
