Bad Drivers and Incidentals Caught on Tape June 2011
Bad drivers and other incidentals caught on my dash cam while at work in late May through June. All these are in various parts of the San Francisco Bay area. The music just the local oldies station. In the fast lane of music there are good songs and a few crappy ones.

Super car driver idiots [NO pics, only videos]
I got bored with all the "super car crashes"-videos here on YouTube that only contained PICTURES, CRAPPY MUSIC or/and clips of pure racing cars on official racing events. This compilation DOES NOT include pure racing cars on official racing events - only real life FAILures on the STREETS, made by people with more money than driving skills... (Though, even the best car drivers can crash too of course.) Notice 1: The "Dodge Ram" may not be a super car, but still it's a SRT10 with the 8.3L Viper V10 which produces 510hp. Pretty super for a pick up, don't you think? It has more power than several of the cars in this video. The intention with this video was to show that skills doesn't come with money. Notice 2: Tire is the preferred spelling in the U.S. and Canada. Tyre is preferred in most varieties of English outside North America. And I'm from Sweden. So please think outside your box (country), you who claims "tyre" is incorrect spelling.

I had to...
I couldn't resist it, 50cc two strokes annoy me. (The Drift's lens was a bit smeary btw)

Blatant Red Light Runners: Caught on Tape
A compilation of blatant red-light runners caught on tape. Increasing the length of the yellow light signal would not have made a difference for these reckless red-light runners. Red light safety cameras are more than twice as effective at reducing collisions (96% to 36%) than longer yellow lights. For more information, visit www.SafeRoadsSaveLives.org.

Car runs red light, hits girl on bike, hit and run... Pursuit follows...
After I talked to the SUV driver and made sure I had his license plate and description, I called the police. They said they would send someone. I told the driver I had his license number and his description and I also had the whole thing on video. He parked across the street from where I talked to him and walked back to the scene. I drove back to the scene where several witnesses stopped to help the girl. The girl didn't seem to be hurt, but she was shaken up. She definitely needed a new bike. Front wheel, forks destroyed and frame seemed bent. I spoke to the girl and the other witnesses who were grateful that I caught up with the driver and had his information. I gave her my name and number and let her know I had the whole thing on video, but she never called. After the SUV driver arrived back on the scene and I saw them exchange information, I went on my way. The police called my cell phone literally 2 hours later, while I was having dinner at home to say they were at the scene and no one was there anymore. I don't think they put a high priority on traffic matters unless there is injury or alcohol involved. -Video of GoPro camera used in the SUV vs Bike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ef57PcR9b90 I don't use the GoPro anymore... Good video quality, but not automated. I now use the Smarty BX1500+ (the 120 degree version) -Video shot with my Smarty BX1500+ camera and a mini-review of the camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4KVeZBPe8o

Remember people, non-tailgaters make better lovers. Using the external mic this time, audio is kinda fail.

Real Car Crash Caught on Video
By a shear stroke of luck, the one day I was testing my new camera mount on the way to work, I caught this accident on the 101 in Los Angeles. The music is Helen Island by Gayle Ellett & Todd Montgomery and is available from this site: http://www.shockwave-sound.com/a/4915b01924

Radar Detector demo gone wrong...
I attempted to make a 9500i laser demo video, but my attempt was cut short when a guy decided to speed up and intervene...

Redflex Redlight Camera
Redlight violations caught on Redflex redlight camera system in Knightdale, NC Lights are set to normal NC DOT standards, including a 4-second yellow. There are two loops in the pavement. The system calculates your speed and if you're going to run the light the system takes three photos: (1) your car with the front bumper at the white line, (2) your car through the intersection and (3) your license plate number. The system also records 12-seconds of video: 6-seconds before you cross the white line and 6-second after. NC judge throw out suit against the Town of Cary using the same lights.
