Most Relaxing Sound For Men 2! Straight Pipe 383 Corvette Revving and Burnout
The old 350 engine on the Vette pretty much died a year ago... We built
this brand new 383 Stroker onto the Corvette last Winter and it has only
been driven this Summer. It's still a work in progress engine meaning that
I need to fine tune it and tweak a lot of carb related things. The engine
consists of 750 cfm Q-Jet carb (will be replaced), Edelbrock Performer RPM
intake, AFR 195 cc Street Eliminator heads, Scorpion roller rocker arms,
Comp Cams XE274H cam, CP Carrillo forged pistons, Scat crank and rods. The
Exhaust is pretty much straight pipes,
Hooker ceramic full headers going to 3" pipes, then 2.5", x-pipe, small
DynaFlow "resonators" and out from the sides. It's really loud and I will
be tweaking it over the winter... :)
Modified '72 Corvette on highway
The camera car is doing right at 70 mph and I never dropped below 4th gear.
Most of the time I'm cruising in 6th at about 1,800 RPM's. Some of the
takeoffs were done in 5th. Just trying to hear the sidepipes at different

This is my first video Ive ever made, so sorry if it sucks. Had to trim it
down from 30+min long. And I didnt even get all the pulls in. Made a
total of 9 Dyno Pulls
that day, with a result of 450 hp and 479 ft lbs. On the later pulls I had
him turn the Dyno down
to read as low as possible, which is 3000 RPM. By 3k it was already making
430 ft lbs! and at 6000 was still at 412 ft lbs, VERY flat and nice torque
curve. We tried different size jets, 2 different carb spacers, and played
with the timing. Best result was out of the box jetting for the carb, and
carb right on the manifold! Lost 15 ft lbs on the low end with the carb
spacers! Was a great day at the Dyno shop, hope you guys enjoy
