The twelfth and last video devoted to the applications to road cars is now on line. The last episode is devoted to progress in racing and its application to road-going cars. The Le Mans 24 Hours is a real technological laboratory for manufacturers which then adapt the systems experimented with in racing to the everyday motorist's car. The new regulations have relaunched the quest of constructors, manufacturers and accessory suppliers to improve the performance of cars in racing, and then, thanks to technology transfer, these improvements find a direct, concrete outlet in the field of production vehicles.

Le Mans 24 Hours - Double pole position for AF Corse Ferraris
Le Mans, 13 June - Great start of the Le Mans 24 Hours for the AF Corse team that was able to lead the game in qualifying both in LMGTE Pro and Am categories. In the Pro one car #51 took the best time with 2013 WEC champion "Gimmi" Bruni that will drive it tomorrow sharing it with Giancarlo Fisichella and Toni Vilander. In the Am category former GP2 driver Sam Bird got a perfect lap and took first place for himself and co-drivers Michele Rugolo and Stephen Wyatt. The only bad situation is related to Pro car #71 that was destroyed in a huge accident by James Calado. Fortunately he's ok but won't be able to race. Let's hope the car can do it instead. 11 legendary racecars at 2013 24h of Le Mans (D-type, GT40, 917, 962, 787B, 905, ...)
To mark the 90th anniversary of the 24h of Le Mans, 11 legendary cars were chosen by the public and a jury. 1 for each decade. Because there was a tie in the votes, 2 cars from the '90s were present. All cars did 2 slow parade laps before the actual FIA WEC race would start on saturday. On friday all 11 cars were put on display on the racetrack between the pit-exit and the dunlop bridge. The rest of the week the cars were on display in a big tent. Less weight means more acceleration, better cornering, and better stopping. The idea is proven once again here as the guys add a 350-horsepower rat-rod engine, rebuild the trans, remove more weight, and make it rigid, safe, and stylish with a full rollcage. Next, they head into a shootout with a 2014 Corvette upgraded by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering with an Edelbrock blower, Kooks headers, and Corsa Exhaust for a wicked-sounding 640 horsepower.
