Le Mans 24 Hours 1969 - La Ronde Infernale Part 2 of 4. The race gets
Jacky Ickx was opposed to the traditional Le Mans start which he considered
to be dangerous, he slowly walked across the track to his machine, instead
of running. He locked the safety belt carefully and thus was the last to
start the race, chasing the field. In lap one, a tragic event proved that
Ickx was right: private driver John Woolfe had a fatal accident in his new
and powerful 917 and fellow countryman Willy Mairesse had an accident which
ended his career. Neither of them had taken time to belt himself in.

lap with Peter Sadler's GT40. Summary of the teams such as Matra, JWA Gulf
GT40s, Ferrari and Porsche with their 908 and the new 917. Interviews with
Vic Elford, Mike Parkes, Rico Steineman, Chris Amon and Mike Hailwood and a
very brief appearance of Steve McQueen.

Wonderful period video from brake pad manufacturer Ferodo on the 1968 Le
Mans race from the standpoint of John Wyer's Gulf Oil Ford GT40 team, who
won the race. The first 4 minutes shows a high speed in-car lap around Le
Mans narrated by Stirling Moss. Wonderful video with footage of Alfa Romeo
33s, Porsche 908s, Matras, etc....
