The Fairmont The Plan -EricTheCarGuy
I think every build should start with a good plan. You need to figure out what it is you want to accomplish before you start paying out your hard earned money on a vehicle build. In this video I talk about my plans for my 1979 Ford Fairmont. For those of you not familiar, this is a Fox body vehicle which is the same chassis as the Ford Mustang from 1978-1992. That means that most of the parts that fit a Mustang of that vintage, fit this car. I'm not the first person to think of this, but I hope to put my own unique spin on this build to make it my own. I think you'll enjoy what I have in store for the Fairmont. If nothing else, it will make for a bunch of new and interesting videos this season. I can't wait to get started. FYI, that will likely be summer 2015. Thanks for watching. 1979 Ford Fairmont a Closer Look -EricTheCarGuy
Many of you have been asking me about Fairmont videos so I thought I would make this one where I take a closer look at what I have to work with. I also talk about some of my plans for this car going forward. I think I have a really nice 'shell' to work with. I have my work cut out for me that's for sure, but as I say in the video, that will just make for more interesting videos. For now, I think I'll drive it. It's a good car after all. A few minor issues, but nothing to really worry about. I may do some of the repairs such as the inner tie rod in an upcoming video. I just need to work out the alignment when I'm done. Looks like an easy job though, easier than some of the other power steering rack stuff I've done. Anyway, enjoy the video. Here's some links.
