Front Suspension & Chassis Upgrades - '68 Cougar / Mustang
In this video, we show some of the ways you can easily stiffen your car's chassis and upgrade your front suspension. Using Andrew's '68 Cougar as a guinea pig, we bolt on, and weld on, some simple parts that will make a big difference in reducing the torsional flex that these front ends are prone to, as well as improving the integrity of the shock towers. Most of the parts mentioned in this video can be found here: http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/frsu.html Springs we used: http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/c7zz-5310-p.html Rubber Insulators: http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/c4dz-5415-a.html Rear seat divider panel (67-68 Cougar): http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/store/p/13463-Divider-Rear-Seat-to-Trunk -Coupe-METAL-New-1967-1968-Mercury-Cougar.html See also: 69-70 Cougar panel: http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/store/p/13464-Divider-Rear-Seat-to-Trunk -Coupe-METAL-New-1969-1970-Mercury-Cougar.html If we forgot to list anything, you should be able to find it on our website! The Story Of Cougar 1: The First Mercury Cougar
A while back, we sat down with Jim Pinkerton, the owner of the very first production Mercury Cougar (1967 model year), a.k.a. Cougar 1. We hit the "record" button on our cameras and he let loose with an epic tale of how the car was first sold in Canada, its subsequent life there, and how it eventually got into his hands - an intriguing story! He also goes over some of the unique features of the car, and some of the restoration techniques used. It's a truly beautiful factory show car with more attention to detail than the 'average' Cougar. Special thanks to Jim Pinkerton for his time, and for providing most of the images you see in this video from his own collection of Cougar memorabilia. 67-68 Cougar Buying Guide: What To Look For
In this video, Don does a detailed inspection on a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 to show some of the things you should look for when buying one of these classic cars. Some of the insight here can potentially save you hundreds, even thousands, when you go to negotiate with a seller. Also, it will help those of you trying to sell, to more accurately advertise the strengths and weaknesses of your car. We've also done a similar video with a 1970 Cougar convertible, so you may want to check that out too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fizb2vo68vA To look up the parts mentioned in this video, visit http://www.cougarpartscatalog.com Subscribe to our channel to keep up with our latest uploads!
