Commercialisée en novembre 1993, la Subaru Impreza n'a cessé de se métamorphoser, avec plus ou moins de réussite. Elle conserve jusqu'en 2008 son côté berline quatre portes très sportive, surtout dans sa version WRX STI pour Subaru Technica International, basée sur les modèles de rallye. Mais la Subaru a ensuite mal tourné, arborant un hayon et perdant ainsi toute sa spécificité qui lui faisait avoir la cote auprès des amateurs de sportives. Heureusement, tout cela a changé.

Volkswagen développe sa petite compacte Polo en parallèle avec un autre de ses modèles phare, la Polo. Comme cette dernière, la Polo est disponible dans sa version sportive GTI. Côté look, c'est une agréable surprise : proposée en trois ou cinq portes, elle se distingue par une carrosserie gonflée, le célèbre liseré rouge qu'arbore la calandre, une spécificité des GTI, de très belles jantes de 17 pouces et une double sortie d'échappement chromée. La Volkswagen Polo GTI dispose également de phares à LED et la caisse est plus basse de 15mm pour donner à la voiture un aspect plus sportif.

Subaru introduced the all-new 2015 WRX STI at the 2014 North American International Auto Show as the most advanced version of its iconic performance flagship model. Powered by a 305-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged BOXER engine, the 2015 Impreza WRX STI debuts a new four-door wide-body design, built on a stiffer chassis for even greater handling agility and precision. The WRX STI provides a rally-bred drivetrain and all-wheel drive handling that is unique to this model. Handling is enhanced with a stiffer chassis, firmer springs and faster steering (13.0:1 ratio). The new 2015 WRX STI Impreza is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged/intercooled 4-cylinder BOXER engine that employs the Dual Active Valve Control System (Dual AVCS). The engine, which is exclusive to the STI model, produces 305 horsepower (SAE) at 6,000 rpm and 290 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The WRX STI engine is teamed exclusively with a specially reinforced 6-speed manual transmission, which includes an STI short-throw shifter in the Launch Edition model. The Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) powertrain management system allows the driver to tailor the car's driving characteristics by choosing from among three selectable modes -- "Intelligent," "Sport" and "Sport Sharp" -- using a rotary dial on the center console. SI-DRIVE alters vehicle performance characteristics by regulating the engine control module and by fine-tuning the electronic throttle control system. The 2015 WRX STI is exclusively equipped with the Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) version of Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. This system uses planetary-type center differential gears with a nominal 41:59 torque split. A mechanical limited-slip type center differential augments an electronically controlled center differential to enhance torque transfer performance. More videos? WRX Sti (570 HP, 573 TQ) Tuned by Topspeed
2004 WRX Sti with over 12K in mods. Tuned by Top Speed of Atlanta GA, Dyno run @ 454 HP and 457 TQ. Mods include 850cc injectors, Hi Flow Fuel Pump, Perrin FMIC, methanol injection, Garrett Tubo (26psi), Perrin Boost controler, full tubo back exahust (catless), uppipe, downpipe, cold air intake, Perrin blow off valve Cobb Access Port piggyback ECU and track tuned suspension. This is my third WRX, I purchased this car with the mods and tune done. I know there is more but this is all I know. The car ran an 11.2 QM and reaches 60 mph in aprox 3.2 seconds. My 65 year old uncle who has raced cars his whole life and owns multiple 600+ HP cars one of which is a wheelies Kit car with a blown 454 producing 650 WHP took a ride in this Subie and said after the ride that it was the fastest car he had ever driven. I am sure he has had a few 10 second cars or even high 9 sec. He said it was the fastest car he had driven but I doubt it. I would say that it is the fastest 0-100 he had ever driven. Old dudes have no idea what horse power can do in combination with AWD. He was blown away. I just got the car last month and have already raced a new Z06 Vette from a 2nd gear roll and pulled 5 links on him to 145 MPH.
