2000 Buick LeSabre Limited-Silver exterior color w/gray leather interior. Has most if not ALL options. It DOES NOT have the optional sunroof or trunk-mounted CD changer. It is unknown if this car has the Touring package.
My Grandma traded a 1988 Buick LeSabre Limited (dark blue paint w/blue cloth interior) with only 88,000 original miles for this car. This Buick was purchased brand new right off the lot at a Buick dealership in Fairfax County, Virginia that has since gone out of business. This Buick was 12 years old at the time the video was made, and it had less 35K original miles! The perfect definition of a "Little Old Lady Car." At the time of this video, I was prepping the car to be sold. My Grandma is selling it because she doesn't drive anymore. Even though I took the Buick through the car wash and did a little bit of touch-up cleaning afterwards, it was still kind of dirty. This is no doubt due to the car spending its entire life outside. There was a lot of dirt built up in the gas filler area and in the hard-to-reach areas in the trunk and doors. The car definitely required the attention of a professional detailer. Despite the fact that this Buick was still kind of dirty, it is still a low-mileage vehicle. It runs and drives like one would expect a vehicle with less than 35,000 miles to drive. The engine starts right up every time, and the car runs and drives excellent. As a large American-made sedan, it will never be a BMW or a Benz, or even an Accord or a Maxima, but it has secure handling. It just floats over the road, and this "American car ride" is not for everyone. I am more of a truck/SUV person, and while this Buick is not as easy to park or drive in tight spaces as my truck or even my mom's van, it handled well enough for me. A couple of power window motors have failed in the past, but other than that, this car has had absolutely no problems! Like I said, it runs and drives great! The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, and I am 99% sure it is a 4-speed, but it may be a 5-speed. The air-conditioner in this Buick blows FREEZING COLD air and as far as I know has never been serviced (i.e. recharged with R134a or had any parts replaced). The heat also works GREAT. The heated front seats function as they should, and the dual-zone climate control system works great too. This car technically has 3-zone A/C and heat. The driver and front seat passenger each get their own zone, plus there are vents in the backseat. The power windows, power door locks, and cruise control all work. The AM/FM stereo, cassette, and CD player work great! The Concert Sound II stereo system sounds amazing!
As I said before, this car has incredibly low miles for its age. Even if it had average miles or even high miles, however, it would still probably run just as good. It does, after all, have the 3800 Series II V6 engine. This engine, in my opinion, is one of the BEST engines ever made. I have seen them with anywhere from 150,000 to more than 200,000 miles and they are still running perfectly. I have personally driven a 1992 Oldsmobile with ta 3.8, and it ran and sounded amazing. After seeing a 2002 Chevy Malibu with about 340,000 miles on the original 3.1L V6 engine, I have no doubt that a 3.8 could do about 400,000 with ease, with proper care/maintenance, that is.
I am normally not a fan of large, American-made cars from this era, but I am really going to miss this car :(
