2011 Ford Crown Victoria 0-60MPH!!!

I now have a 2004 Grand Marquis as my daily driver. You can see that cars 0-60 run on my channel. I got this as a rental when my '03 Impala got backed into by my neighbor. I only had this rental for a few days and I absolutely fell in love with Crown Victoria's after that! They are so spacious and comfortable, and get decent MPG for being a larger V8. Not incredibly fast, but not too slow either for such a large vehicle. I also have a few P71 videos on my channel that I test drove. Thanks for watching!

'03 Crown Vic P71 0-60, Top Speed, and Brake Demonstration
PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: This is my 2003 Ford Police Interceptor. I decided randomly to stop and make this video on my commute home. The road is hilly and not perfectly smooth so it's not a great choice, but it's what I got. The video is from a stop full throttle to a top speed (If you listen closely at 130-132 MPH the engine cuts back due to the limiter). My rear axle bearings are bad and getting replaced today so that hurts the speed too. The brake check towards the end was a full ABS stop from 120 ish (5.5 seconds) to show there is no noticeable brake fade from the brakes. The front brakes are nearly worn out Raybestos Police Pursuit Brakes (I Highly recommend them) the rear brakes are stock. The car is 100% stock and the temp outside today was around 75 degrees and humid.

Chevy vs. Ford Cop-Car Thrash Battle! Roadkill Episode 12
On this episode of Roadkill, Freiburger and Finnegan are out to discover which used cop car they like best, the Chevy Caprice 9C1 or the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor P71. Of course you expect nothing but the most professional, scientific analysis from these guys, and that includes a day doing donuts and bashing into stuff on pavement, tire explosions, a road trip to the desert, camping, thrashing on dirt roads, and a finale that just might create a new form of low-buck off-road motorsport. Roadkill appears every fourth Friday on the new Motor Trend channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to make sure you're in on all the action! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c... It has a ten switch air ride system, in other words its "bagged". it has labo doors on the front. All door handles have been shaved and the doors now open by remote. The grill and lights are all custom, as well as the marauder black paint job. It has a compustar alarm coneected to a Nathan Airchime train horn. The windows have been limo tinted and the interior has all be replaced. This car was built for shows.

SUVs and pickups pose less risk to people in crashes
IIHS news release • September 28, 2011 Effort to make SUVs, pickups less deadly to car occupants in crashes is paying off ARLINGTON, VA - Today's SUVs and pickups pose far less risk to people in cars and minivans than previous generations, a new study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows. Until recently, SUVs and pickups were more likely than cars or minivans of the same weight to be involved in crashes that killed occupants of other cars or minivans. That's no longer the case for SUVs, and for pickups the higher risk is much less pronounced than it had been. Full text of release at http://www.iihs.org/news/rss/pr092811.html

2009 Mercury Grand Marquis Road Test
2009 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Engine: 4.6 liter SOHC V8 (224 horsepower/275 ft. lbs. of torque) Transmission: 4-speed automatic w/OD Rear Wheel Drive City/Highway MPG: 15/23 This is a full road test of my mom's 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis, to show how it performs in different situations, and to identify any problems that may exist. I would normally do this after having the car in the shop for repairs, but in this case I am driving the car around just to get a better idea of how it feels on the road. I drove it for about 2 hours and came away very impressed. It is comfortable, refined, solid, and very agile. With only 224 horsepower, one would think that it's underpowered compared to its V6 competitors. It's not. The torquey V8 will pin you to your seat when gunned from a dead stop, and once you're up to speed, there is always plenty of power in reserve. The big V8 has a deep, burly muscle car sound when revved, but at low RPMs it is muted and unobtrusive in the cabin. The 4 speed automatic isn't much of a handicap with the V8's torque curve, although it prefers not to downshift into 1st or 2nd unless you mash the pedal to the floor. If you drive with a light foot, and keep RPMs below 2000, you can easily attain 20+ mpg in everyday driving situations. On the highway, the car is very efficient, due to its tall overdrive gear that keeps the RPMs low. The four wheel ABS disc brakes provide adequate stopping power, with reasonably good pedal feel. Stopping distance is short in an emergency, although the front end dives toward the ground. The Marquis handles very well for a big car, even though it is not equipped with the Handling Package (this option was discontinued around 2007). In hard cornering, body roll is minimal and the Michelin tires provide plenty of grip. The rack and pinion steering setup leaves feel somewhat numb, but it's also pleasantly light and very accurate (especially on the highway). Mercury obviously wanted to leave some "slop" in the steering, so the old folks won't think they're driving a Ferrari :) If you must throw the car around, it is safe and predictable, and can be quite fun for a boat. Comfort is where the car really shines. The ride is very smooth, and gives you the feeling of "floating" over bumps. This is great on the highway, where little road imperfections are ironed out, but not so good on bumpy back roads. If you hit potholes or man hole covers, the car pogos up and down a couple times before settling. I enjoy this type of ride, but many people do not. Inside, the car is very quiet, and road noise is minimal. The leather bench seats are supremely comfortable and roomy, even after a couple of hours. Overall I am really pleased with how the car drives, and it just happens to be a car I would consider buying used. R.I.P. Mercury and all the Panther platform cars that have been discontinued. The song at the beginning is Cradle of Love by Billy Idol, one of my favorite 80s songs.
