fun, mock start, chased an ADR for most of the session. i think he was playing with me because these cars should be way faster. kept improving lap by lap, best lap time this session and for the weekend was 124.8 This was my first time at this track, i think that a high 22 / low 23 is possible.

ZR1 at MSR 1.7 ccw at 70%.MOV
First laps in ZR1 at MSR in Cresson TX, running the 1.7 ccw. My previous best was in a CLK Black Series at 1:27.6. Ran 3 laps, 1:36, 1:36 and 1:32. Then I decided that I was starting to feel a bit too "racy" in my friend's $120k weekend car and thought it time to turn in while we were both still smiling. In the final lap, I didn't exceed 75% of what I'd do in my own car. He runs it at 1:22 without breaking a sweat. Yes, on "street" tires. I bet he'd turn 1:16 on Hoosiers. The "Wow" comment at 22 seconds was because I was holding the brake but holding the gas at the same time and noticed the RPM's at 2.5k. The after market heel/toe pedals are a bit close for my fat feet. Noticed it again when beginning to brake for a heel/toe and the car surged when I hit both pedals. The car is magnificent, on track or on the street.

Finally got some data acquisition using Harry's Lap Timer and overlays. The only downside was that my best lap was after this at a 1:25 but Harr's only video records every OTHER lap... Oh well... My tires were blistered after today and they really did pretty well considering their age and amount of heat cycles.

The third session of the day at Road America with MVP Track Time. Another awesome event and perfect weather. My mom was inspired by the video posted by Top Gear with the guy and his mom at Laguna Seca, so she came along for the day and rode every session. Way to go, Mom! As for the driving, this was the Intermediate group. The Z loves the corners, but she can't hang with the big boys on the long RA straights. And once you lift to point one car by, you've compromised your straight speeds and then you gotta let all the high horsepower cars by. Late braking let me catch up to the pack at the end of each straight though. I kept VDC on given this is a dangerous track, but it was a huge limitation the whole day. It just won't let you put down any power on corner exit.
