Ferrari F1/89 LOUD V12 F1 SOUND ex-Gerhard Berger
I've filmed this loud Ferrari F1/89 at the Corse Clienti 2012 in Spa
Francorchamps. This F1 was driven by Gerhard Berger in the 1989 Formule 1
season. It's a 3.5L V12 producing 600 HP at 12500 rpm. Topspeed of 310 kph
and a power-to-weight ratio of only 0.8kg/hp!
You can hear this F1-89 revving the4 engine, starting the engine in the
pitbox area, leaving the pitlane and doing a couple of LOUD drive-by's in
the La Source and Eau Rouge curve. It sounds epic, this is how Formule One
cars should sound...real V12 SOUND!
2014 F1 V6 Turbo Engine Battle - Ferrari vs Mercedes vs Renault vs Honda (2015)
Here is a video comparing all of F1's V6 turbo engines which will replace the current
naturally aspirated V8's for next season. As I'm sure you know (and you'll
certainly know after watching this), the engines will sound significantly
different in 2014 to how they are currently with a move away from the
screaming 8 cylinders to whining 6 cylinders which produce a noise that has
been likened to an oversized vacuum. The truth is though that these sound
clips have been made on computers (with the exception of Ferrari) which
don't take into account factors such as engine mapping, surrounding
environment, chassis vibration etc. so don't think that the engines will
sound like this on the track. As anyone who's been to a Grand Prix will
know, the engines sound nothing like they do on TV or in sound clips in
real life. All I'm trying to say is that the engines will sound fine when
we get to testing so it would be great if people could stop complaining
about the FIA ruining F1, anyway, how can F1 get much less interesting than
in 2013? ;-) Thanks for watching!
