Giorgio was trapped inside his burning Lamborghini for almost a minute before one of his crew members who did not wear a fireproof suit and got his face burned could pull him out. Giorgio is still recovering from his injuries.

2013 Porsche 918 Spyder (HD)
It's only been a few days since we brought out a series of spy shots of the upcoming 918 Spyder wearing a very cool Martini Racing livery, and today it's time for another testing session. Judging by the photos, this prototype was testing somewhere in Spain, and lucky for us, our spy photographers were able to take some pretty cool images of the interior, as well as more shots of the cool "Martini Hippie" livery previously used in the 917 race cars. The first thing we noticed is the enormous center console that seems to be inspired by the console found in the Carrera GT, but it also gets a large LCD screen in the middle. A few dials and control interfaces are visible below the screen, but it's clear that the large screen will be a touch screen. Porsche has tried to keep everything camouflaged, but it's also obvious there will be plenty of carbon fiber used for the upcoming supercar's interior. Spy shots also reveal a red indicator that shows what gear the car is in and a few gauges that help the driver be in control of his vehicle. The sports seats also reveal the "918 Spyder" logo stitched into the headrest, but we bet the final product will look completely different. The tachometer appears to have a 9000rpm redline, and the word "Charge" also appears on it, while aluminum paddles complete the look. As a reminder, the 918 Spyder will be powered by a 570 HP 4.7 liter V8 engine combined with two electric motors. The front motor is rated at 107 HP and the rear motor at 121 HP. With nearly 800 HP, the supercar will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds and will go up to a top speed of over 200mph.

2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S ''Edition 918 Spyder''
The big news from Porsche lately is the go-ahead and pricing attached to the production of the 918 Spyder. But if you read the fine print on the official announcement, you may have noticed the German automaker's current performance flagship mentioned. To celebrate the launch of the 918 Spyder, Porsche is offering a special edition of the 911 turbo S. Called, appropriately enough, the 911 turbo S "Edition 918 Spyder", it's essentially the same as the standard turbo S, only with some extra decals, special colors and unique trim. The model will be available exclusively to customers ordering the 918 Spyder, can be had in either coupe or convertible, and carries the same sticker price. So what's the point? To keep customers who are waiting for delivery of their 918 happy in the meantime. Now that's one heck of an appetizer if we've every seen one. And at $160k+ (on top of the $845k price of the 918) one very pricey option as well.

Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid drives - first real video
This past Thursday, the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid made its driving debut on a closed road in Monterey California, just days prior to its appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. After being shipped over from Germany by plane, engineers handed the keys of the new 918 Spyder Hybrid to Porsche AG Design Chief Michael Mauer. The car drove under its own power which comes from the mid mounted 3.4 liter V8 out of the RS Spyder as well as in all electric mode which powers just the front wheels. The 918 Spyder prototype combines high-tech racing features and electro-mobility to offer a fascinating range of qualities: An emission level of just 70 grams CO2 per kilometre on fuel consumption of three litres/100 kilometres (equal to 94 mpg imp) truly outstanding even for an ultra-compact city car, on the one hand, combined with the performance of a super sports car and acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just under 3.2 seconds, top speed of 320 km/h (198 mph) plus, and a lap time on the Nordschleife of Nürburgring in less than 7:30 minutes, faster than even the Porsche Carrera GT, on the other.
