1991 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible Driving Video
I purchased a 1991 Saab 900 turbo
convertible with 105,000 miles. This is a brief video of it being driven
I paid $960 for it with 105k and it was running somewhat poorly with some
cosmetic blemishes. I spent $4000 in repairs, far above and beyond what was
necessary (could have probably gotten away with $700 or so), to bring it up
to completely dependable running condition. That includes labor at $70/hr
-- I don't have a garage for comfortable DIY repairs in the winter.
This replaces a 2004 BMW 3-series convertible that was totaled when I was
t-boned in an accident a couple years ago. Its 20 years old, but at least
there's no payment.

Saab 900 turbo on the Stelvio Pass
On August 15th 2010, we drove a MY84 Saab 900 T16 and a MY88 Saab 900 Aero
up and over the Stelvio Pass; also formally known as the 'best driving road
in the world' (Jeremy Clarkson - Top Gear). Besides the fact that we had to
cope with rain, hail and the occasional campervan, it was a delight and the
best day ever spent in an old Saab.
SAAB 900 Rust Repair (ugly but effective)
This was a successful repair, with a whole race of abuse and a crash on it,
it's still in the same condition as when it left the garage. Hopefully my
schmuckness will be inspiration for you to go and fix up your SAAB, even if
you aren't a great welder. The rust kit worked well and installed with
little modification. This is a big load off my mind, the nightmares of the
wheel crumbling off have finally stopped.
