2014 Chevy Corvette C7 Stingray Interview Video with Harlan Charles @ 2013 Detroit Auto Show

How did you balance the evolution of the design with what people come to expect to see in a Corvette? "We really wanted to create an all new Corvette, every surface, everything people see was intended to be all new but also unmistakably Corvette. In the back of our minds we wanted to bring back the passion of the Stingray; some of the famous Corvettes like the 1959 Corvette racecar designed by Bill Mitchell, or the 1963 split-window. We wanted to bring back some of that passion but necessarily the same design cues. The goal was to create a new Corvette statement going forward that builds on the past but in an entirely new way. So one of the fine balances we did was incorporating a lot of racing technology which you can see in the car via the functional air vents and cooling outlets derived from the racecar while at the same time trying to make the car more sophisticated and upscale." Are we going to see different variations of the Corvette that will allow you to take on higher end GT cars? "Within the new Corvette Stingray line-up we have the Z-51 Performance Package to satisfy those who are looking for more track oriented performance, but then there will be different options at a higher luxury level that can be added on such as faux leather or suede headliner. We are going to have a lot of different ways that you can tailor the car to your needs whether it is more towards the performance end of the spectrum or the luxury GT end. What this will do is not only open the car up to the hard-core performance enthusiasts, but also to those who appreciate cars in general." Will there be additional smaller displacement engines in the future? "I will say the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray does have a large displacement 6.2 liter engine, but there is an Eco-Mode with cylinder deactivation which essentially makes the car under certain conditions a 3.1 liter 4-cylinder. With this technology we are allowing people to have the best of both worlds: a large V-8 with 450 ft.-lbs. of torque when you want it and you can also have the fuel economy of a 4-cylinder." The Corvette gets faster with each new generation; will we ever hit a wall in terms of performance? "We keep pushing the technology envelope. On the C6 Corvette, we never thought that the car would make over 630 horsepower in the ZR-1, but we did surpass that figure. And I think the performance will keep on going, people will always want more power and more speed. We are going to keep pushing the envelope as much as we can." The overall look has still remained throughout the years while also evolving with the times. And this new 2013 Land Rover Range Rover looks as amazing as ever. Land Rover states this vehicle has a couple of different design elements that include: Luxury, Sustainability, Relevant Functionality and Desirability. Underneath the all the luxury lives the soul of one of the most capable off-road vehicles ever produced for the mass car market. But with the high price tag many of these luxury SUVs will never step foot off the pavement. The base price on a new 2013 Land Rover Range Rover is $82,650 with the top of the line Supercharged Plus model with the Autobiography Package starting at $130,100. For over 40 years Land Rover has been producing the Range Rover and over that time this vehicle has become the ultimate luxury SUV. This new 4th generation Range Rover is bold, beautiful, and powerful. This high end vehicle drives so well you would be hard pressed to find anything wrong with it. The Range Rover offers a great powerplant, luxurious ride, and all the features and options you would expect from the leader in luxury SUVs. The 2013 Range Rover has been completely redesigned inside and out. For starters they really simplified the instrument panel. Now there are a lot fewer buttons and the infotainment system is much more intuitive. The typical driver will not be going off road for the most part, but it is nice to know they can. Those capabilities are at your fingertips when driving the 2013 Range Rover. Under the hood lives a 5.0 liter V-8 engine pushing 375 horsepower and 375 lb-ft. of torque through an 8-speed automatic. Step up to the Supercharged models and power jumps to 510 horsepower and 461 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is 14 MPG in the city and 20 MPG on the highway. Land Rover has also improved the stability and braking dynamics of this Range Rover. In fact everything about this luxury SUV is all new but the most exciting fact is that the weight has been reduced by 700 pounds. Because of this you will be getting better fuel economy and better performance. The Terrain Response System is an all new system for the Range Rover and has several modes of operation. You can choose between a Snow/Gravel setting, a Mud and Ruts setting, a Sand setting, and the most aggressive off-road setting is the Rock Crawl Mode. There is no question the 2013 Range Rover is one of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced SUVs on the market. There are 4 different trims levels when it comes to the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover. Choose from the Base model, the HSE model, the Supercharged model, and the Autobiography model. The latter model swaps out the seating for 5 and replaces the rear bench seat with 2 Captain's Chairs for maximum comfort. The Autobiography model is the most luxurious SUV you can buy. Land Rover has really done a great job with this model. The 2013 Range Rover is just a brilliant vehicle. If you can afford this luxury SUV do yourself a favor and go buy one. 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Luxury Car U.S. Sneak Preview Video @ 2013 Detroit Auto Show

This entry-level luxury car features the aggressive and sporty design found on higher end Mercedes vehicles combined with a finely crafted luxury interior; all at a very affordable price tag of around $30,000. The 2014 Mercedes CLA-Class should be hitting dealer showrooms this fall. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class includes many features and options found on much more expensive luxury cars. The engine is a turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a dual-clutch 7-speed automatic. Outside the aggressive lines are not just for looks; instead they help with the aerodynamics of the car. LED daytime headlights are a staple in the luxury market and the CLA-Class sports some of the most beautiful lights found on any car. The front sport grille is very eyecatching with its silver-tipped studs. The large alloy wheels compliment the rest of the exterior. The 2014 Mercedes CLA is a significant vehicle for the Tri-Star brand. Basically the CLA has the Executive Premium Styling found in the CLS brought down to an entry level luxury car. The Mercedes CLA is the new baby of the bunch; it is essentially a CLS in a smaller package. The exterior is very stunning thanks to the muscular 4-door coupe styling. The CLA has a lot going on, it is very luxurious on the inside and it looks fantastic on the outside. The meat under the hood is a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine pushing out a little over 200 horsepower and 250 lb-ft. of torque. As awesome as the outside is, the interior is an excellent place to be. The gauges look futuristic, the seats are comfortable, and the backseats have plenty of room. All of this adds up to a very impressive package. This might be a very hot seller for Mercedes-Benz. Besides the exterior styling, that wonderful interior, and the excellent engine; is the price which starts at around $30k. This car is a stunner and should hit showrooms later this year. 2013 Audi S6 S7 S8 Walkaround with Filip Brabec Director Product Management Luxury Car Video Review
Recently Autobytel caught up with Audi's Product Planning Manager Filip Brabec at the S-Model Launch. Filip was gracious enough to give us a nice thorough overview on all 3 of the new S Models including the S6, S7, and S8. 2013 Audi S6 http://www.autobytel.com/audi/s6/2013/ The 2013 Audi S6 is immediately recognizable as a unique vehicle in Audi's product line thanks to a differentiated grille, new body kit, and oval Exhaust out back. The interior features a lot of new items including sports seats, different trim strategies, and a few unique appointments to remind you this is an S-Model. But really what's key about all 3 vehicles is the unique Bi-turbo V-8 engine which produces 420 horsepower in the S6 and S7 and 520 horsepower in the S8 which has some engine modifications in order to withstand that extra power. Torque also jumps from 407 lb-ft. in the S6 & S7 to 481 lb-ft. in the S8. All three of these S Model vehicles have stunning performance. The 0-60 MPH times for the S6 & S7 are 4.5 seconds with the S8 coming in at 3.9 seconds which is incredible for a luxury automobile. The suspension in these vehicles is an Adaptive Air Suspension System that replaces the springs providing an adjustable ride between comfort and sport. The brakes on the S Model line are also upgraded to larger units. All in all these are really great performing machines. 2013 Audi S7 http://www.autobytel.com/audi/s7/2013/ On the Audi S7 you see the same level of differentiation as mentioned before with the unique grille, lower ground effects kit, and a larger sized 20-inch wheel. The car is lowered by 10mm over the regular A7 and the can be lowered an additional 10mm if you set the ride to Dynamic. This gives the S7 a very sporty ride when you are looking for some spirited driving. Also notice the aluminum optic mirrors that are common to the S Models. Overall the 2013 Audi S7 brings a lot of style together. You can see the car is wider and lower than the regular A6 but most noticeable is the Sportback hatchback design which gives versatility. 2013 Audi S8 http://www.autobytel.com/audi/s8/2013/ The 2013 Audi S8 is really the king of Audi's model line-up. This luxury ride represents the fastest and most powerful sedan every produced by Audi. The 520 horsepower and 0-60 MPH times of 3.9 seconds are amazing for this full-sized vehicle. The power and agility transform the Audi S8 into a top performer. The engine is mated to an 8-Speed Tiptronic transmission that provides and extraordinary performance.
