2004 BMW X5 4.8is Start Up, Exhaust, In Depth Tour, and Short Test Drive
In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2004 BMW X5 4.8is. I take
viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this suv while
showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues
to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start
it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. I also take it for a brief
test drive and show how it is on the road. A thorough tour/review of this
suv designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
BTW there are many other features of the X5 I was not able to show such,
this vehicle is loaded, I will give you the best overview that I can in the
time I have.

Here at Bavarian Autosport, we have found that our BMW X5 owning customers
have been contacting Otto about troubles with their outer door handles not
working. They note that the handle pulls normally, but the door will not
open. The common problem is that the inner handle mechanism breaks and does
not transfer the outer pull handle's motions to the latch release cable.
The cure is to replace the inner handle mechanism.
We have seen customers' shop quotes for hundreds of dollars to replace the
inner handle mechanism ... and more than just a few incorrect parts
replacement quotes (quotes to replace the incorrect parts). Since one of
our purchasers had an X5 with BOTH front door handles inoperative, Otto
decided to have a look and see just what the problem was and determine if
the replacement is a reasonable DIY task. We found that the inner handle
mechanism was indeed the culprit and the repair is no more difficult than
the common window regulator replacement.
Come on along as we show the steps for replacing the X5 inner door handle
mechanism on a 2004 x5 3.0i. All E53 x5 models (00-06) will be as shown in
this video. Note that you may wish to order a few new inner door trim panel
securing clips. It is very common that some of the clips will break, or
already be broken from a prior door panel removal. We replaced six clips on
the door panel shown in this video. Additionally, if you find that the
vapor barrier panel is ripped or damaged, this should be replaced to
prevent water entry to the cabin. Bavarian Autosport stocks the clips,
vapor barrier and the vapor barrier adhesive as well as the handle

2005 BMW X5 4.4L V8 Start Up & Rev With Exhaust View - 84K
2005 BMW X5 4.4i
This has a 4.4L V8 making 315 HP while paired to a 6 Speed Auto. So this
is a pretty decent combo.
I have never been much a fan of X5's of this generation. The smallest road
imperfection is made into a huge deal so the ride can become choppy. I find
that the vertical travel of the rear suspension is very short as the rear
makes this hoppy or Jouncy feeling which is very uncomfortable. The Seats
are very hard & more so in the back seat, so these can become very tiresome
on long drives.
If you like X5's, best go for the V8 version.
I have driven dozens of 2001-2006 X5 3.0i's. The 3.0i is one of BMW's best
engines but it's too underpowered to propel this small but heavy SUV. The
5 Speed Auto used in the 3.0i hasn't proven too reliable and it is very
clumsy. Sometimes shifts can be smooth, Hard, Abrupt, it's just
