2016 Nissan Maxima
2016 Nissan Maxima New York 2015 Nissan has unveiled the 2016 Maxima at the New York Auto Show. Previewed by the Sport Sedan concept, the 2016 Maxima has a bold design with a V-Motion front fascia and LED-infused headlights. Moving further back, there's stylish body work, blacked-out pillars and a 'floating' roof. The car also has a dual Exhaust system and 18-inch alloy wheels with painted inserts. The upscale styling continues in the cabin as drivers will find themselves surrounded by higher quality materials and modern technology. Notable highlights include a flat-bottomed steering wheel, Alcantara accents and a center stack that is angled seven degrees toward the driver. The car also has an infotainment system and a 7.0-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display in the instrument cluster. Options include ambient lighting, heated /cooled front seats, a Bose audio system and premium Ascot leather seats with diamond-quilted inserts. The model also can also be equipped with an assortment of safety technology including Intelligent Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and a Predictive Forward Collision Warning system. Power is provided by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 300 bhp (223 kW) and 261 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a new Xtronic transmission which should enable the Maxima to return 22 mpg city / 30 mpg highway. The Maxima also rides on a new platform that features more high strength steel than its predecessor. This change helps to increase torsional rigidity by 25 percent while helping the car to weigh 82 lbs (37.1 kg) less than the outgoing model. The 2016 Nissan Maxima will go on sale this summer and U.S. pricing starts at $32,410 (excluding an $825 destination and handling fee). Source: Nissan
