RE Amemiya Super Greddy 7 RE20B RX-7 FD3S
This RE Amemiya Super Greddy 7 RE20B was built for the annual Tokyo Auto
Salon. This exquisite machine is packed with RE Amemiya's tuning knowledge
and is setup for the street.
The intent of the vehicle is of course, running the Wangan highway. The
machine was designed to easily reach high speeds and provide unmatched
stability at 300km/h. This makes 300km/h seem like leisurely cruise.
The three rotor 20B engine was removed from a Mazda Cosmo. It is fairly
easy for RE Amemiya to build a 300km/h engine, and it can be done with a
13B. Then why choose a 20B? The 13B is notoriously known to have a short
life span, especially after it has been modified. Also, it lacks the low
end torque, and it does not hold the power to leisurely reach, and cruise
at 300km/h like the 20B.
Therefore, the 20B was chosen, and the low end torque demise was solved.
But even though it's a rotary engine, doesn't mean that it is a easy swap.
The weight distribution of the well balanced FD becomes thrown off. The 20B
had to be offset 10cm to the rear and 6cm to the front in reference to the
13B. Also, the body, subframe, and the propeller shaft all need
The exterior was dressed up with the RE Amemiya 2006 model Aero kit. It
consists of a Porsche 997 front headlights, and the rotary themed rear
bumper. The sides consist of super wide fenders to accentuate the whole
The vehicle was completed just in time for the first ever Pre Tokyo Auto
Salon event held in the United States. The vehicle then will be shipped off
in time for the real 2006 Tokyo Auto Salon event in Tokyo.

ALTERNATE VIEW This video is to show how a well maintained RX-7 idles when
cold-started. It will first idle at 3,000 RPM for about 10 seconds to build
oil pressure. Then it will drop to 1,500 RPM for about 15 seconds to warm
the seals. Then it will drop to 600-750 RPM resting idle after about 30-45
seconds. Car is fitted with a K&N Cold Air Intake with heat shield and a
2¼" High-flow Cat-back dual Exhaust
system. The smoke from initially starting it is normal. The engine does
this to lubricate the apex seals when the engine is cold.

When I was driving back from an event, this turbocharged Mazda RX-7 FD3S passed me in a
tunnel. As you can see this tuned Mazda RX-7 FD3S was spitting some huge
flames from the Exhaust! Hate it or

Built as an all-round event's car, Charles' Mazda RX-7 has undergone
serious chassis and engine changes including a Promaz Automotive
bridge-port 20B rotary engine. Boost
comes from a Garrett turbocharger while
the engine runs on methanol fuel controlled by a MicroTech LT16 computer
and LTC dash logger. Backed by a Jerico 5-speed dogbox, the clutch was

Mazda Rx7 4-rotor race car. The making of a Defined Autoworks Beast. [Offical Video]
Never before seen footage showing the assembly/start-up of our custom
4-rotor. It is the first 4-rotor since the 787b to use triple spark plugs
per rotor. It is also the first since the 787 to feature telescoping intake
manifold. Custom made slide throttle body system. A world first however is
the use of a center main bearing and 4-piece eccentric shaft. Quick specs-
9.7:1 rotors, lightened and race clearanced. Race main bearings, and race
rotor bearings, ceramic NRS 2mm apex seals. Custom stationary gears, Full
custom Peripheral Port in each rotor housing (defined auto), Aluminum side
housings for reduced weight. Needle roller bearing in the center housing.
