In honour of the re-union race at Mallory Park this coming 28/29 August (get your butts down there!) here is the tiny bit of footage I have of Thundersallons/Silhouette racing. I loved these cars and races as a marshall, well behaved drivers, spectacular cars, fast and noisy, just what we want! First clip has Tony Sugden's Skoda and Mick Hill's March BMW (anyone confirm/disagree?) arguing over the same bit of Thruxton tarmac, big spin for Tony. Next its a Class-B Silhouette race at Brands and a fast starting Toyota Sarlet knuts the Brands bank. Then off to Donington and a race I was at, hence the brief pause, that's me on the wall on the right. The cars are Pete Steven's works Carlton leading from the Wilson/Birley Armour-All RX7, Whale/Hodgetts ex-BTCC Supra (now with a proper gearbox, lol), Wallace Sierra ?, Dell/Boarer Sarlet, Maries/Nash Holden, Chatfield BMW M3, Jackson/Liles Astra, Morris/Morris 309GTi, Morton & Bridger/Mortlock Sarlets, McLaird yellow 205. Awesome cars. The Cunnigham/Chalmes Manta spins at Redgate and gets a whack from John Quartermayne in the SD1, then Morris spins the 309. Stevens lost the race to the RX7 when a wheel bearing went South, hence all the smoke. Next its Brands and a rear view from the Stevens GM Carlton of Ron Cumming's Aberlan Honda Legend, I remember Tony Wolf running a white Legend as well, same car different owners and paint? We then see a very rare spin from Stevens when he has to slow to avoid the ex-Sean Walker BTCC Sierra RS500. Anyone else have footage of these awesome machines, let me know, and see you at Mallory next weekend.

Produced by Suzy Ronchetti Footage from the Allcomers Sports V's Saloons on Road tyres, qualified in Monaro but excluded due to excessive noise, so Lotus Bullet substituted. Therefore had to start 35th and last on the grid. Water leak lead to a misfire from lap 2 onwards, managed to take the lead on lap 7 but had to retire 2 laps from the end due to overheating:

Classic action day 30th June 2012. Busy session with lots of overtaking. Puting down black stripes while exiting some corners. Car is an MGB Gt V8 4.8 with sebring arches making 336bhp while only weighing 970KG.

Movie I made at the CSCC Modsports and Super Saloons Revival Challenge meeting at Mallory Park on 29/08/2011. Features; Jeff Wilson and his team fettle the ex-Mick Hill VW Bug V8, they never did solve the problem causing a viscous weave underbraking. David Tetley and his crew warm the "Stars and Stripes" Opel Manta 400-Pontiac V8; Thomas Carey warming the Imp Californian; Bill Richards warming his Rover Metro; Bernie Chodosh warming his Chevy Corvette; Joss Ronchetti in the Sunbean Talbot Lotus. Then out for practice, footage from session two. Then lunch and the rain comes down, first race is a wet start, Mike Wilds in Daf-ne takes off, Pete Edwards comes through in the Escort Mk2 class-B Thundersaloon to take the win on a greasy track. Race two is much faster, Simon Allaway (lotus Silouette) and Pete Stevens (Sertec Carlton TS) having a real battle. Michael Bell the the "Lairy Canary" Escort has a big moment, Lee Costello in the other black Escort (V8 power in this one) comes through before it throws the cooling belt. Unfortunately the camera stopped then, just as the fun was really starting. Enjoy!
