TR 3650 02 Mustang GT standard transmission rebuild overview

An in between footage of rebuilding this 5-speed out of my 02 Mustang GT. I just finished putting it back together and should have it in the car by noon tomorrow. It was hard to put the large snap ring back on at the end. Edit: now the transmission is in the car and works really well. Just like new actually.

T5 Wont shift
New 1st,2nd,1-2 slider, and 1-2 shift fork. I figured out the problem... The roll pin in the metal block that holds the shift forks wasn't pressed in all the way.

4R44E Transmission Teardown Inspection - Transmission Repair
Here we see a teardown of a 4R44E transmission of a Mazda B3000 3.0 V6. This unit is also on the Ford Ranger and Ford Explorer. Although the unit changes in name, they're virtually the same unit as I explain in the video. 4R44E has 4 pinion planets on the front and rear. 4R55E and 5R55E have 6 pinion planets. 5R55E has an added speed sensor and reluctor on the output shaft for an added signal for the computer to make a 5th gear. Most of the parts are interchangeable between the 3 including valve body. The computer is the one responsible to make this transmission shift 5 times. The added gear is between 1st. and 2nd. applying the overdrive band to give you that extra gear that some call it 2nd prime.

Mustang T5 5-Speed Transmission Conversion Installation 1967
http://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-racing-transmission-world-class-t5-5-speed- v8-1979-1993/p/M7003Z/ This installation features a Ford Racing World Class T5 Transmission and a Supreme T5 Conversion Kit , which includes everything you'll need to install it in a manual transmission equipped Mustang. A 5-speed swap will allow your car to accelerate faster because of the better gear ratio, and will allow your Mustang to drive better on the highway. The first step, once you begin work underneath the car, is to remove any headers or pipes that are blocking your drive shaft. After you remove the drive shaft, you'll want to remove the starter. Once you're ready to remove the transmission from the bellhousing, make sure to follow Bill's steps closely to accurately remove all necessary parts. After removing the bellhousing, you will then want to remove the six bolts that hold the clutch to the flywheel, which can be difficult. Remove the flywheel and the equalizer bar, and then try to clean the area a bit before installing the new transmission. For installation, follow Bill's steps in installing the new flywheel, clutch pressure plate, and bellhousing. We've decided to upgrade the shifter on our Ford Racing transmission to a Pro 5.0 shifter. Once you have your new transmission in place, you can install the four bolts that will hold your transmission to the bellhousing, and then install the crossmember. Reinstall your starter, speedometer gear, clutch cable plate, and other necessary parts for your new transmission. Once it's all back together, take it for a test drive and enjoy the experience of the 5-speed transmission in your classic Mustang!
