My SR20det (Green Machine) after rebuild
Just a quick list of stuff i've baught and done to the motor during its down time. Hopefully this will inspire some people to take their builds to the next level and spend some extra time on them. I make good money but not alot. You can have a built motor in no time if you pick away at it and dont rush things. How to Rebuild a Turbo - Part 1 of 2
Rebuilding a td05h 16g turbo. This process can be applied to many journal bearing turbochargers. :) It definitely comes in handy to know how to do this when you are in this type of hobby.
4/25/12: Small explanation on the balancing of the rotating assembly since I get so many comments regarding it. This particular turbocharger, td05h, has it's rotating assembly components balanced separately. This means each individual part (compressor wheel, turbine wheel/shaft) gets balanced separately. This allows for easy interchangeability of parts in case they need replacing. This is why I am able to install a td05 20g wheel on this turbo without having to balance the entire rotating assembly. THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR ALL turboS OUT THERE. You need to research whether your specific turbo (if it's not td05h) was balanced as an assembly or "component balanced" like I explained above. -3" CES turbo back Exhaust (Ceramic coated inside and out, $2200 worth of system have receipt). Nice note, no big stupid cannon out the back, but loud enough to when punching it
-5 Puck NPC Button clutch (7000k's old)
-I put a new/second hand gearbox in it when i rebuilt, feels AMAZING and contains only the best Redline Shock proof gear oil
-Diff was pulled out and checked, bit noisy in reverse but other then its fine. Also has Redline Shock Proof oil
-New water pump
-Brian SPL Tuned ECU
