Turbine engine explodes

~UPDATE~Thank you so much for the 4M+ views! This is a video of an engine on a test stand when a turbine blade is failed by an explosive device attached to a blade. Usually they fire a bird at the engine. A 3lb. dead chicken. This test was successful in that the failure was contained. i.e. engine parts did not go beyond the engine cowling. It does not take long for the engine to digest its self.

Bird Strikes Jet Engine
General Electrics test jet engines. Among the many tests, it shoots birds into the jet engine fan-blades. I know what it feels like to be aircraft engine stalled in the mid-air, 6,500 feet above the ground. It happened to me back in 1991, near Agua Dulce airport, not far from Palmdale, CA. On the day, I flew Cessna 152, a two-seater small aircraft. I was on my way to Las Vegas. When I reached Barstow, I encountered strong gusty wind. I was jumping up and donw in the seat due to strong turbulence, my head started hitting the ceiling. Then I realized that if I was kept going, hitting a mountain peak was inevitable before I reached Las Vegas. Hence I decided to return to Van Nuys Airport. Then there was stronger head-wind on my way back home. It resulted airplane fuel consumption twice as much. Guess what happened next? I ran out of fuel. The engine stalled and I had to make an emergency landing at the Agua Dulce. Somehow I managed to make a perfect landing after two loops. Otherwise, it would've been dead long ago, and impossibe being here and writing this. by cacomfort.

5 Wind Turbines which Failed (Enviromental friendly?)
Windmill Failures Nearly 120 wind turbines catch fire each year, according to a research - ten times the number reported by the industry. The researchers claim that out of 200,000 turbines around the world, 117 fires take place annually - far more than what is reported by wind farm companies. Fire has a huge financial impact on the industry; Each wind turbine costs more than £2 million and generates an estimated income of more than £500,000 per year. Any loss or downtime of these valuable assets makes the industry less viable and productive. Fires are a problem for the industry, impacting on energy production, economic output and emitting toxic fumes, this could cast a shadow over the industry’s green credentials. Wind turbines catch fire because highly flammable materials such as hydraulic oil and plastics are in close proximity to machinery and electrical wires. These can ignite a fire if they overheat or are faulty. Lots of oxygen, in the form of high winds, can quickly fan a fire inside a turbine. We look forward to your feedback ! Hebo Machines - "The Money Machine 2"
Hebo invented the modern wrought iron machine and is the worldwide leader in this field. The multi-functional Hebo system can: Twist, endforge, scroll, emboss, texture, hammer tube, make baskets, and press belly pickets, and much more. The Hebo system is designed and built by German blacksmiths for the ornamental iron industry. This is the same machinery worldwide parts suppliers use. The Hebo system will bring new levels of production and creativity to the Ornamental Iron Fabricator. Visit our website for your free full length DVD, at www.usahebo.com or www.drivewaygates.com
