my 94 dodge dakota 383 big block. single handedly built in my spare time over winter in my garage. there are barely any parts available for this big block swap so some of the hand crafted parts were a pain! motor mounts, headers, oil pan and cross-member were just to name a few but its all worth it to say BUILT NOT BOUGHT!

My Dodge Dakota New Paint Job & Performance Upgrades
I know I havent done a truck video in awhile as been a busy years racing and upgrading parts on the truck here is a video showing the changes I have made. In April / May I had upgrated the top end of the engine with new heads, intake, throttle body and bigger headers, later in the summer it got some fresh paint.

Dodge Ram Dakota 4.7L 4x4 V8 - First Snow Day (Drifts, Donuts, Cold Start)...
First major snowfall of the year - only about 2-4 inches. This video shows a 5*F (-15*C) cold start, then works into some donuts and drifts on a closed course. The truck is stock except for 31" BFG T/A KO tires and an MBS dual Exhaust.

Dodge Dakota Coolant Leak Repair - Including Bypass Hose, Thermostat, Water Pump, etc.
To get to what turned out to be a Thermostat leak we had to remove the following items: The Serpentine belt, the fan, the Air Conditioning Compressor, the Alternator and the A/C and Alternator Bracket. This way you can easily access the bypass hose, the thermostat housing, and the upper heater hose (or otherwise called the heater to engine hose). This also gives you free access to the water pump if you were going to replace it. This is actually the easiest way to access the water pump as opposed to the way the service manual describes removing it (without removing the A/C and Alternator bracket). However, after doing the job we discovered a second leak on the lower heater hose (or the heater to water pump return hose). Which also needed to be corrected.





How to Flush the Coolant and Replace the Thermostat in a 2002 Dodge Dakota
This vehicle had one of the worst cases of rusty coolant I've ever seen, so I demonstrate how to drain the cooling system, flush all the old coolant out, then backflush the radiator and the engine to clean the rust out of the cooling system, and then replace the thermostat and bleed the cooling system. FYI: I needed 1 1/2 jugs of concentrated coolant when I flushed the system, so be sure to buy enough I am not responsible for any mishaps that may have occurred from following these procedures. I do this to help you, the car owner, and cannot assume responsibility for any problems. Please use this information to help yourself, good luck, and take care. -6speeddakota
