Second run of the season with a new build and it was runnin out of gear
just past half track..and he's in the 9's.
1970 Opel GT Restoration
1970 Opel GT restoration. Body was stripped, media blasted, repaired and
repainted. All rubber components (bushings, weatherstrip etc.) replaced.
Engine rebuilt. Replaced low compression pistons with flat top pistons.
Installed ISKY cam, optic ignition, larger intake valves, weber carburetor,
and headman husler header. Rebuilt brakes, resealed transmission and
differential. ... basically there isn't a single part of this car that
Doomsday Impala - Building a Drag Doorslammer (1920 x 1080 Full HD)
1968 Impala, Doomsday, chrome moly, tagged to 6.0. Three and a half years
work, representing approximately 5000 hours investment of time. Uploaded in
full 1080 HD. Adjust the little cog, next to the clock on the bottom right
of the screen to adjust the viewing quality. Car is a Chevy's full size
offering, a1968 Chevrolet Impala, naturally aspirated with 496cu methanol
carburation. Chassis is tagged to 6.0. Best ET with this engine 8.69 at

1970 Opel GT project started Aug '08. 99% Complete November '09. Painted
Hemi Orange with double the pearl. Spoiler added, lowered, header, Weber
carb, new head with bigger valves, flat top pistons, Crane fireball
ignition, and ISKY racing camshaft.

69 Opel GT Burn-out & Quarter Mile Blown Injected V8 BB Chevy
Show quality, 16 pt. round tube chassis, Strange rear, 4 link, struts,
fiberglass tilt front, steel body, factory glass, power windows, 509 ci BB
Chevy, Kinsler mechanical fuel injection, BDS stage II blower, SAR ported
alum Dart heads, C.T. turbo 400 w/Super
bell, C.T. 5300 converter, stretched & lowered floor pans, crushed velvet
interior. Zero to 60 mph in 1.307 sec's. 0-150 9.32 sec's... thru the
mufflers, burning 93 octane on street legal tires. NYS licensed, registered
inspected & insured.
Opel GT 2
The Opel GT was equipped with a base 1.1 L OHV straight-4 engine, which
produced 67 hp at 6,000 rpm. However, most buyers chose an optional 1.9 L
overhead camshaft engine, which produced 102 hp (SAE) at 5200 to 5400 rpm.
In 1971, due to emissions regulations, Opel reduced the compression ratio
of the 1.9 L engine used in the US and output fell to 83 hp (SAE).
Standard transmission was a manual four-speed. A three-speed automatic was
available with the 1.9 L engine. The model run of the Opel GT was from 1968
The Opel GT used a steel unibody and a conventional front-engined,
rear-wheel drive layout. The overhead camshaft engine was mounted far back
in the chassis to improve weight distribution. Front suspension consisted
of upper A-arms and a lower transverse leaf spring. A live axle and coil
springs were used in the rear. The power-assisted braking system used discs
in the front, drums in the rear. Steering was unassisted.
