I thought you'd like a look at this nicely restored 1969 Plymouth Road Runner convertible. It's powered by a nicely detailed 383 V8 four barrel, backed by the 727 Torqueflite automatic. All the power is sent back to the 8 3/4 inch rear with 3.23 Posi gears. It's a sharp looking car all the way around and an excellent example of Mopar Muscle. The #900081 is truly an awesome beast. It's the heaviest of it's kind and it's powered by a massive GM/EMD 16 Cylinder turbo Diesel that cranks out 3000 horsepower. All the power from it's massive engine goes to power the 12 foot diameter rotary blades. Those blades can spin at a maximum of 150 RPM and they generate a tremendous amount of force. This huge machine was pushed through the snow by as many as 4 locomotives. I'd like to give special thanks to the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri, for allowing me the opportunity to film this amazing marvel of engineering. The engine has an Edelbrock intake manifold, an Accel coil, Taylor wires, chrome valve covers, and a new Autolite Platinum battery. Nifty Plymouth, here! Wartime conversion of auto assembly lines into wartime industries essentially stopped domestic car production through 1946. I had videoed this car before at the Orange County Convention Center, but it was roped off, and I couldn't get the detail that I have on this video. Plenty of chrome trim on this car, inside and out. For the first time in Plymouth history, running boards were trimmed to fit under the margin of the door which flared out at the base. So a prominent feature of cars was essentially hidden. I've seen some of this era Plymouths with hood ornaments that lit when the headlamps were on. This car does have a back seat although it's not easily visible because of glare and the top that hides it!

This slick coupe's high quality, frame-up restoration began with what appears to be a solid, damage-free body. That body's panels were painstakingly stripped, sanded and massaged to better-than-showroom condition. Once those massaged panels were correctly aligned, and the car's intimidating ambiance fully reconstructed, a smooth coat of Chrysler FE5 two-stage was laid under a correct transverse stripe. And the result is an ultra-straight, fully sorted pavement pounder that inspires comments and elicits stares every time it hits the road! Make good use of the aforementioned hood pins and you'll find a 400 cubic inch Chrysler B block that, thanks to a complete rebuild, looks as natural as a Superbird in winner's circle. Oxygen whips through the car's 'Air Grabber' hood to a Hemi Orange cleaner that feeds a big Holley carburetor and beefy Weiand intake. At the front of that intake, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor translates MSD 6AL-2 spark into fire for MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Cooling is supplied by a correct Chrysler radiator, which utilizes pliable hoses, an aluminum water pump and simple squeeze clamps to send water past fresh V-belts, rebuilt ancillaries and a reproduction Mopar battery. This Plymouth's chassis specs leave little question as to why Chrysler's B-body architecture was such a huge hit with performance car fans. Take a step under our lift and you'll find a tough ol' stoplight skeleton that still wears a thick layer of undercoating. Behind the thumpin' B block, a rugged A833 4-speed twists a familiar Chrysler 8.75-inch rear end around streetable, 3.23 gears. Below that proven drivetrain, a heavy duty front torsion bar and rear leaf suspension includes factory power steering, a correct sway bar and manual front disc and rear drum brakes. And power flows to the pavement through familiar, 15-inch Rallye wheels, which spin 235/60 Goodyear Eagle GTIIs in front of 255/60 Goodyear Eagle GTIIs. When you open this Road Runner's solid doors, you'll find a cockpit where legendary Mopar power melds seamlessly with a stylish, no-nonsense driving environment. This properly restored 1968 Firebird features a fresh V8, 700R4 transmission, posi-traction rear end and a killer paint job. The restorer went through and had the control arms, front wheel wells and the frame all powder coated as well. This is a car that drives exactly the way a new car would have in 1968. The rear wheels are Budnik 20" wearing 275/35/ZR20 tires, and the fronts are Budnik 18" with 235/40/ZR18 tires. 248-974-9513 The black leather interior is very well done. The front bucket seats and the back bench seat are both in near perfect condition. The center console with wood grain detail is beautiful as well. It is also equipped with an AM/FM radio, tilt wheel and seatbelts. Door panels, carpets, and the white vinyl convertible top, are all in excellent condition. Calling this a nice car just doesn't do it justice. This is a gorgeous car with an impeccable pedigree and a huge helping of performance thrown in just for fun.
