This is a beautiful car that can be relied on to drive anywhere. This is the most beautiful replicas out there, anywhere it is driven it draws a crowd. This is no cheap kit car, the frame is a square frame construction with a great suspension. It was built by Backdraft Racing in South Africa and then completed by Backdraft in their Florida facility. It has 17" Halibrant style wheels and low profile Nitto tires. The car is a brilliant Metallic Maroon with Silver racing stripes. The motor is a 351W that has been bored and stroked to 427ci. The motor is a Ford SVO block that I rebuilt a few months ago to change to a full hydraulic roller Lunati cam to make the motor more streetable as it had a solid roller cam in it previously. No expense was spared on this build all new lifters, timing gear set, pistons, bearings, valve springs, valves and seals. The motor is easily making 500 hp on pump gas with a safe compression ratio of 10.5:1. The motor also has Victor Jr heads and intake from Edelbrock. The pistons, crank and rods are all forged units. The motor was balanced and blueprinted to maximize performance and longevity.
The transmission is a Tremec 5 speed with a .82 overdrive. The suspension and rear end are from a BMW M3 E36. An Autowerkz rearend bracket has been added to prevent rearend failure. The driveshaft has also been upgraded with new u-joints and a take apart yoke to allow future replacement without the removal of the transmission. Options from Backdraft are a heater, oil cooler, the Halibrant wheels have the polished lip, chrome bumpers front and rear (the over riders are available and will be included in the sale), there are 3M paint protectors in front of the rear wheels as well and the toneau that covers the cockpit is included. The car rides smooth and handles like a go cart that will make any trip a joy. The car has 11575 miles on it currently and will be a great car for cruising, car shows and trips. For sale or trade for 65-67 Corvette.

If you're in the market for a fresh twist on an old favorite, forget about
project cars pieced together from leftovers; and forget about fiberglass
builds that exist only to duplicate their outdated aluminum predecessors.
What you need is this razor-sharp BDR Cobra that's reliable, fully-sorted
and ready to rock and roll!
The assembly of this car's professionally finished body began with a
steel-lined GRP molding that was hand tweaked and gel coated on a full-size
rotisserie rack. Once that gel coating was complete, the body was smoothed
by a seasoned fiberglass professional, baked in an even coat of primer and
inspected top to bottom to ensure first class quality. When quality control
was cleared, a clean basecoat was covered in three layers of ChemSpec
clearcoat, baked and cured for three days, and finally, flattened and
polished to a head turning shine.
Built from the ground up as your ticket to major power and killer speed,
this car's stout Roush 427 small block utilizes an iron block, a steel
crank, a roller cam, H-beam connecting rods and forged pistons to create a
Dyno-proven 487 horsepower and a mind
boggling 518 lb./ft. of torque. At the top of that smooth engine, a Roush
Cobra Jet-style air cleaner mixes fresh oxygen with 93 octane pump gas via
a large Holley 4-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake. That
intake is bolted between lightweight aluminum heads which prop attractive
Roush valve covers over mild steel headers that are ceramic coated for
longevity. Fire is provided by an MSD Blaster SS high output coil which is
connected to an MSD Pro-Billet distributor and high performance Roush 9mm
plug wires. Cooling comes courtesy of a heavy duty radiator which
circulates water past a large electric puller fan and a polished stainless
overflow tank via polished stainless water tubes and a polished Weiand
water pump. And at the front of the block, a modern serpentine system spins
chrome pulleys in front of a slick Powermaster alternator and a chrome
power steering pump.
When it's time to put your hair in the wind, forget about outdated
Toploader 4-speeds because this modern-day Cobra blisters the pavement with
a new Tremec TKO600 5-speed. That world class transmission delivers power
to a 3.46 limited slip BMW rear end that creates whiplash-inducing
acceleration while still allowing the car to loaf along at highway speeds.
That drivetrain, which is bolted to a hot-rolled rectangular steel ladder
type chassis, sends power through the same BMW-sourced MacPherson strut
front and fully independent rear suspension that's becomes a BDR hallmark.
Brakes are massive discs at all four corners that, thanks to this car's
featherweight construction, are absolutely impervious to fade on the
street, no matter how hard you're running. And there's simply nothing that
looks better on a Cobra than a set of Halibrand-style wheels which spin
aggressive 245/40/17 front and 315/35/17 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 radials
around genuine knock offs.
A set of nicely stitched black leather buckets, which are complete with
four-point Crow Enterprizes harnesses, form the foundation of this
roadster's interior; and they're a massive upgrade over the shells you'll
find in both original Cobras and most other replicas. In front of those
seats the white and blue dash, which is covered in blue-stitched vinyl
trim, hangs a full assortment of electric VDO gauges between a chrome
rearview mirror, and switches for the car's lights and wipers. At the sides
of those seats, traditional Cobra fiberglass doors have been fitted with
leather map pockets, leather handle straps and fresh chrome latches. And at
the bottom of those seats high grade carpet, which is protected by
color-keyed Backdraft Racing floor mats, frames billet foot pedals, a
blue-stitched emergency brake handle and an attractive BDR shifter. In
front of the driver, a stylish Teak steering wheel spins around a polished
steering column; and behind the driver, a fully finished trunk includes
both an onboard trickle charger and a surprisingly large amount of storage

This 560 horsepower supercharged 427
replica is a fully sorted and expertly detailed show car that wears a
licensed Shelby body and features autographs from both Carroll Shelby
himself and legendary engine builder Jack Roush.
When you take a car to SEMA, you're displaying in front of hundreds of the
most skilled and influential car guys in the world. Every part of the car
has to be flawless and EVERYTHING about the cars build has to be absolutely
perfect. This '65 Cobra began with exceptionally solid fiberglass that
doesn't show any signs of waves or ripples. On top of that fiberglass, an
even and smooth gel coat provides an excellent canvas for the cars wet-look
Pepper Gray paint and a killer set of red and silver racing stripes. Once
that spectacular paint was buffed to a brilliant shine, proper finish work
ensured that this laser-straight re-creation looks every bit as good as the
old school aluminum 427 Cobra it replicates.
But enough about the trim, let's get to the REALLY amazing part of this
Cobra. The cars fresh 351 Windsor V8 has been bored and stroked to 408
cubic inches, features an 8.5 to 1 compression ratio and puts out a dragon
slaying 560 horsepower and 575 lb./ft.
of torque! The top end of the motor is beefed up by a Paxton Novi 1200 Supercharger with seven pounds of Boost, an Aeromotive high performance
electronic fuel pump with dual filters and a Boost adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and
a polished Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. Spark is provided by an MSD 6AL
ignition system, an MSD points distributor and MSD Super Conductor wires,
and slick ceramic coated headers make quick work of the spent gases.
Cooling isn't an issue with the cars fan cooled aluminum radiator and
polished water pump keeping everything in check, and the detailed build
even included grade-A ancillary components like a power brake Booster and engine oil cooler. This Cobras
entire custom fabricated aluminum engine bay is held together with aircraft
style aluminum rivets and features complete satin nickol AN fittings and
stainless steel braided hoses.
Bolted into this car's correct all tubular steel frame is a modern TKO600
5-speed performance transmission that is equipped with a McCleod scatter
shield and a Centerforce clutch and pressure plate. That transmission feeds
a tough Dana 45 limited slip rear end that does an excellent job of
transferring the cars massive power to the ground with very little drama.
At the front of the chassis, modern tubular upper and lower control arms
are equipped with a heavy duty sway bar and coil overs that house
performance Bilstein shocks. Out back, four more modern tubular control
arms are equipped with a second heavy duty sway bar and two more coil overs
with performance Bilstein shocks. Stops come courtesy of a four wheel
Wilwood brake system that sends fluid from a hydraulic clutch master
cylinder via braided hoses to red Superlite big bore four piston calipers
which clamp 13 inch slotted front Wilwood GT rotors and 12 inch slotted
rear rotors. Keeping this Cobra glued to the race track is a custom a set
of 18 inch American Racing Shelby Pin wheels that wear 275/35 front and
massive 335/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport radials.
Jump inside the car and you'll find nice custom embroidered leather seats
that feature Cobra four point racing harnesses with cam-lock releases. The
cars painted dash is covered in tight black leather and houses an
autographed Carroll Shelby glove box beside correct Smiths black faced
gauges which include a traditional 8,000 RPM no redline tachometer. Below
the seats, new carpet is protected by rugged Superformance floor mats, and
at the sides of the seats, the cars fiberglass doors have been covered in
matching black leather. In front of the driver, a 15 inch leather wrapped
steering wheel features satin aluminum spokes and a correct Superformance
horn button, and beside the driver a chrome shifter and chrome hand brake
sit directly in front of a chrome fire extinguisher.
Don't miss this opportunity to own a spectacular turn-key car that's just
as nice as an original Cobra, and probably more fun to drive, at a fraction
of the price.

This Backdraft Racing Cobra is one of those special ones that raise the bar
for everyone else. It is a brand new build with fresh components used
throughout. Looking brilliant in Sterling Silver with a bright silver
stripe, it's a sophisticated twist on the usual blue or red Cobra, but with
all the original race-bred DNA intact. The beautifully finished body is one
of the nicest we've seen. There are no waves or ripples in the substrate,
and the gelcoat is even so that none of the fiberglass matting shows
through. Proper finish work has resulted in a laser-straight Cobra that
probably looks every bit as good as a fully restored aluminum original.
Although the body screams, "427!" under the hood you'll find a built small
block Ford. Based on the compact and lightweight 302, it has been bored and
stroked to 347 cubic inches, making for one formidable powerplant. The
engine compartment itself is beautifully finished, with a polished
stainless firewall and gloss black inner fenders—heck, even the bottom of
the hood has been sanded and smoothed to look as good as the rest of the
body. The engine wears cool Ford Racing valve covers that have a high tech
satin blue finish, with a matching air cleaner on top of the Holley double
pumper. An Edelbrock intake is the perfect companion for the Holley, and an
MSD ignition system lights the fires. You can see the quality in this build
with the polished stainless hard lines for the coolant and that gorgeous
polished overflow tank is something the originals never had, but perhaps
Forget Toploader 4-speeds, this modern-day Cobra hits the road with a
bulletproof 5-speed overdrive unit that delivers whiplash-inducing
acceleration, yet still allows this roadster to loaf along at highway
speeds. The suspension is fully independent, front and rear, where a lot of
lesser Cobras use a rigid axle that the original Cobra never offered. The
difference is a Cobra that will dance with you on the track instead of
biting you when you push it too far. Brakes, of course, are massive discs
at all four corners, and thanks to this car's featherweight construction,
they're absolutely impervious to fade on the street, no matter how hard
you're running. And there's simply nothing that looks better on a Cobra
than a set of Halibrand-style wheels, with this one wearing a set of 17s
with genuine knock-offs that even have the correct safety wire holding them
A set of beautifully stitched and formed black leather buckets form the
foundation of the interior, and they're a massive upgrade over the shells
that came in original Cobras and most replicas. Featuring the Backdraft
Racing logo embroidered on the backrest, these seats are ergonomically
designed with better lateral and thigh support, and are adjustable to
accommodate drivers over six feet tall. The leather-covered dash is full of
electronic instruments that keep an eye on all the engine's vitals, and
look great doing it. A custom shifter that is canted forward like the
original manages the 5-speed, while a beautiful wood rimmed steering wheel
looks right at home in the vintage roadster's interior In back, the trunk
is surpsingly spacious, thanks to the fuel tank being located beneath the
car. Fully carpeted as well, it can carry a week's worth of clothes for you
and a passenger, or perhaps the proverbial two sets of golf clubs. Not bad
for a two-seater.
So to all you guys with nice Cobra replicas out there, this is the standard
by which we'll be measuring in the future. Beautifully finished, sinister
to look at, and frighteningly fast, this Cobra delivers on the promises
made by its appearance. Craftsmanship matters, and engineering, both on the
manufacturer side and the assembler side, is critical. This is a Cobra
that's docile enough to drive around town, but designed for the rigors of
the track. And they simply never go out of style. Call today!
