TPC Turbo Powered Porsche Cayman S Power Run and Review
www.vividracing.com installs and tests the new TPC turbo Kit for the Porsche Cayman S. Adding 100-150HP at 5.5psi of Boost, this bolt-on turbo kit takes the Porsche Cayman to a completely new level. Team Driver Jack takes the car through the 2 lane mining roads of Arizona testing the cars performance.
Cayman TPC turbo @ 520bhp
So I just got my Cayman back from TPC with their latest tune up just the
day before the snow hit in the DC area. It was then locked up in the garage
for a week until I finally started to take her to work. Still it was cold
and not so nice.
Today it was finally sonny and I thought it was a good day to take her out,
take some pictures and video record the new Exhaust note etc.
Well it was one of those days.
The thread in the camera to mount it came lose and camera started to tilt.
Adjusted that twice and at the end just left it tilted. It was still only
about 38F outside and the road mostly wet even though it looks dry in the
vid. So not much grip and you can enjoy watching me almost putting it in
The current engine modifications of my 2006 Cayman S:

customized, selectable ECU mappings for 93 and 100 octane
Boost controller 5.5 and 7psi.
Almost to exactly 3,000rpm the car sounds exactly the same as before and
you can cruise at about 73mph and not notice any modifications. The car
drives just like it always has. Push it past 3K and the car completely
changes, the Boost is still very
linear but much harder and never lets off well deep into 7K rpm. The Exhaust note changes radically, very
raspy, very angry really more pissed than anything.
The biggest difference to before is the throttle sensitivity.

TPC's Michael Levitas takes me for a test drive in a Cayman turbo they just converted for a customer.
The car is simply awesome. The drivability is the same as stock until you
push it -- then all hell breaks loose! With this kit, TPC has turned the
Cayman into something very special. You can use it on your daily commute
and on the weekend go out to your local track and "spank" a GT3.

2014 Porsche Cayman S! Is the Lightest Porsche Now the Best Porsche? - Ignition Ep. 73
On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago gets behind the wheel of the
newest iteration of Porsche's Cayman line, the 2014 Porsche Cayman S. After
some twisty road driving, Carlos meets up with pro driver Randy Pobst at
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to discuss the capabilities of the new Cayman on
the track. It's track ready, balanced, and can go from 0-60 in 4.2
seconds... but is it worth it's fully loaded six figure price tag?
First previewed on its Boxster platform-mate, and shown at last year's Los
Angeles Auto Show, the new Cayman looks more aggressive than its
predecessor. From the 918 Spyder-aping looks to the scalloped air intakes
on the doors to the silicone-injected hips, the car looks buffer. It's
larger, too. The wheelbase has been stretched by 2.4 inches, while the
overhangs on either end have been shortened by 10mm. Overall length is only
up 0.1 inch. The track has been widened 40/12mm front/rear.
Ignition appears every Monday on the Motor Trend youtube channel.
