1985 C4 Corvette-Kart vs. 2014 Lingenfelter C7! - Roadkill Ep. 35
On this episode of Roadkill, we hack the entire body off a C4 Corvette,
cage it, and call it a race car! Freiburger and Finnegan fulfill a dream
that began four-plus years ago when they first wrote the "Vette Hack"
article for HOT ROD magazine, slicing 900 pounds of ugly fiberglass off of
a 1985 Corvette to prove that it would handle better in the autocross. Less
weight means more acceleration, better cornering, and better stopping. The
idea is proven once again here as the guys add a 350-horsepower rat-rod engine,
rebuild the trans, remove more weight, and make it rigid, safe, and stylish
with a full rollcage. Next, they head into a shootout with a 2014 Corvette
upgraded by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering with an Edelbrock blower,
Kooks headers, and Corsa Exhaust for a
wicked-sounding 640 horsepower. And then, of
course, there's the off-road mayhem. The Vette Kart rocks!

1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray - #99 DET
1972 Chevrolet Corvette for sale in our Detroit Showroom. This is a
survivor in its original paint according to the seller, and only 83,817
miles on the clock. War Bonnet Yellow paint makes this Vette for sale stand
out amongst the red, blue, and black ones at the shows! Options include
AM/FM/CD player, t-tops, power brakes, power steering, tilt and telescopic
wheel, seat belts, vinyl interior, radial tires, rally wheels, and numbers
matching drivetrain. The original 350 CID V8 rated at 200 HP still carries
the partial VIN stamp and the CKW suffix code clear and easy to read and it
is backed by the original wide ratio 4 speed manual transmission. 1972 was
the last year from chrome bumpers in both front and back of the Corvette so
these have become highly collectible. They are only original once and this
one is mostly original and in great shape! The engine was detailed and the
seats were correctly recovered in 1996 to keep up appearances and the
original paint still shines well for its age. The 200 horsepower was more a sign
of the rating systems than a true power loss from the previous year.
Engines were now rated with net horsepower opposed to gross
the year before. This took into consideration losses from the air cleaner,
Exhaust systems, and accessories like
power steering. This car will still move and get you thumbs up everywhere
you go! The Exhaust note ringing from
the dual Exhaust is exactly what you
expect with a C3 Corvette! Located in our Detroit Showroom, this 1972
Corvette Stingray for sale can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com, or

2014 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta vs 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 vs 2013 Porsche 911 C4S! Head 2 Head Ep 42
On this episode of Head 2 Head, Carlos Lago and Randy Pobst restage our
annual Best Driver's Car competition with this year's winning Porsche 911
Carrera 4S plus two contenders that missed the initial dance, the all-new
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and the explosive, exotic Ferrari F12
Berlinetta. The Ferrari is the most powerful car we've ever taken around
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with its ferocious 6.3-liter 731 horsepower V-12. The
Corvette comes packing the latest version of GM's venerable small block, a
6.2-liter cam-in-block V-8 that kicks out 460 hp and 465 pound-feet of
torque. The Porsche and its relatively tiny 3.8-liter flat-6 might seem out
gunned, but remember that for the last two years the 911 has beaten back
every BDC challenger we've thrown at it. Does the Corvette have what it
takes to dethrone the 911? Does the wailing Ferrari? Watch and find out!

this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a
very desirable Corvette at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this
car now and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal work and
effort. It gets a ton of attention going down the road and turns heads
everywhere it goes. The low mileage is verified not only by the condition
of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in the link below,
showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos and
information in the link below to get a true sense of how nice and clean
this Corvette really is.
Full Throttle 2015 Corvette Z06 (625 HP)
The heart of the 2015 Corvette Z06 is the all-new LT4 6.2L supercharged V-8
engine, expected to deliver at least 625 horsepower (466 kW) and 635
lb-ft of torque (861 Nm). To balance performance and efficiency, the LT4
leverages the same trio of advanced technologies introduced on the Corvette
Stingray: Direct injection, Active Fuel Management, or cylinder
deactivation, and continuously variable valve timing.
The supercharged LT4 comes with a standard seven-speed manual transmission
with Active Rev Match, or an all-new 8L90 eight-speed paddle-shift
automatic transmission designed to enhance performance and efficiency. The
seven-speed manual incorporates rev-matching technology for upshifts and
downshifts. A new dual-mass flywheel and dual-disc clutch deliver greater
shift quality and feel through lower inertia.
The eight-speed automatic is tuned for world-class shift-response times.
Smaller steps between gears keep the LT4 within the sweet spot of the rpm
band, making the most of the output of the supercharged engine for
exhilarating performance and greater efficiency.

Hennessey C7 Corvette Runs 200 MPH on Texas Toll Road
On December 11, 2013, a 700 HP Hennessey C7 became the first 2014 Corvette
Stingray to break the 200 mph barrier by reaching a maximum speed of 200.6
mph. This was achieved on a closed section of the Grand Parkway which
connects I-10 to Hwy. 290 on the west side of Houston, Texas. Officials
from TxDOT, Texas DPS and TransCore were on hand to witness the testing of
the EZ tag toll system. Special thanks to TxDOT Chairman, Ted Houghton.
The Hennessey C7 Corvette was equipped with the company's HPE600 upgrade
with the addition of a 100 HP Nitrous

One of only 1,741 LT-1 350 equipped Corvettes for the 1972 model year, and
one of only 240 air conditioned cars for the 1972 model year, this numbers
matching War Bonnet Yellow Corvette coupe wraps a ton of original parts in
a high quality restoration.
Manufactured at GM's St Louis Missouri assembly plant and then trucked
across town to St Louis Missouri based Fields Chevrolet, this '72 Corvette
has benefitted from one single frame up restoration throughout its entire
39 year existence. During that top notch restoration, the car received its
one-and-only repaint of GMs striking code 989 War Bonnet Yellow paint that
has been well-maintained, and presents an extremely glossy shine. Unlike a
lot of classic Vettes, this car has not been over-restored which means it
still displays factory correct panel gaps, and its fiberglass body fits
together exactly the way it would've when leaving the showroom in 1972.
Tilt the hood on this glowing Corvette and you'll find a numbers matching,
top option LT-1 V8 that was fully rebuilt to factory specifications during
the cars restoration. Equipped with solid lifters and a high performance
camshaft, this hot 350 produces 9:1 compression ratio and cool 255 net horsepower (or, for
you traditionalists, 330 gross horsepower) At the top of
the motor, a chrome open element air filter sends air into a correct,
exclusive to 1972 Holley 4 barrel carburetor. Below that carburetor, a
correct Winter aluminum intake sits between the cars original finned
aluminum valve covers. Below those valve covers, the engine block has been
bathed in correct Chevy Orange paint and is border by correct ram horn cast
iron Exhaust manifolds that show
hardly any rust. At the back of the motor a correct distributor sits under
a chrome shield, and at the front of the motor you'll find the cars
original Frigidaire AC compressor sandwiched between fresh hoses and fresh
Behind the engine, a hardcore M21 Muncie 4-speed sends power to a
Posi-traction rear end that houses tall for 1972 3.36 gears. The close
ratio transmission slips easily through the gears and when combined with
the cars standard power steering and power disc brakes, it makes for a
quick, great driving car that might even surprise a few drivers in modern
performance machines. Holding the car off the ground is a road ready
original double A-arm front and solid independent rear suspension that
houses a traditional transversely mounted leaf spring. Exhaust is handled by a low restriction factory
style true dual system that features two factory replacement mufflers just
ahead of stainless tips at the rear of the car. Putting the power to the
pavement is four 15 inch steel rally wheels that are glued to 215/70 BF
Goodrich T/A radials and wear pristine silver paint behind turbine style
center caps and stainless trim rings.
Slip into the cars heavily optioned all original code 421 Saddle interior
and settle into one of the comfortable leather covered bucket seats. Below
the seats, the cars clean and stain free saddle carpet runs from under the
dash to the lighted cargo area and creates an awesome 70s feel. On the
doors, original saddle colored panels feature great looking stainless trim
and wood appliques above chrome handles and correct chrome twist locks. In
front of the driver, the cars straight and crack free dash houses crystal
clear gauges next to an AM/FM cassette player with a digital tuner and a
correct passenger's side map pocket. Power flows from that AM/FM cassette
deck through a Pioneer amp mounted in the cars jack well to hidden Pyle
speakers in the cargo area. Below the dash, the cars original saddle
console houses rotary controls for the cars rare air conditioning system, a
chrome Hurst shifter with a marbled shift knob and buttons for the cars
optional power windows. In front of the driver, a correct black rimmed and
satin spoked steering wheel features a correct C3 crossed flags horn
This is a numbers-matching LT-1 Corvette with factory air conditioning and
War Bonnet Yellow paint is a rare, well documented car that's ready to
drive home today for less than the price of a frame-off restoration.
