1959 C1 Corvette Barn Car Unveiled
More of our story on www.vette59.com! Katharine and her dad "uncover" their Corvette after 25 years of storage in the barn. This is the first step in getting the car back on the road. The 'vette was purchased by Barry in 1970 from the original owner, and went into retirement when kids came along. The two are putting her back in road-ready condition, no NCRS untouchable flatbed riders here.

Supercharged 283 chevy
283 supercharged sbc .030 over, 12% overdriven, Rhs heads, Lunati solid flat tappet 632 lift, balanced, forged, two 600 holleys. Engine has to be partly taken apart later to be painted and finish polishing, just wanted to hear it, while I am getting my 57 chevy ready. I also have a 458 c.i. set up like this small block but gas will be a little cheaper besides this little fast reving sbc sounds really kool, I think I am going to like it. Engine built by G&M Automtive, Thanks Mikey.

1965 Chevelle Engine Upgrades V8TV
http://www.v8tvshow.com - Our '65 Chevelle drove in on a low-performance 350 cubic inch Chevy replacement engine that was reported to have less than 10,000 miles on it. Initially, we contemplated doing a late-model EFI swap on this car, but then we thought we'd take a look at what we had and see what kind of shape it was in. Turns out that the 350 is a parts-store type replacement engine with 4-bolt mains and a very clean bottom end. The cast iron heads and cam were not very exciting, so we used the Dynomation engine simulation software to whip up a new recipe. In this installment, we clean up the engine, repaint the short block, and install a new Comp Cams Xtreme Energy cam, lifters, timing set, new Holley performance aluminum cylinder heads, a Weiand Action Plus intake manifold, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor, some Flowtech headers, and a Holley 670 Street Avenger camshaft. Some of the parts we already had like the MSD unit, the intake, and the carb, but the cam and heads are new. Here's how it went.

Machine Shop Engine Pickup
In this video Katharine and I are picking up our Corvette engine parts August 5th from NASCO is Saco Maine. Bob (owner) has done the work over several weeks. The block has been cleaned, magnafluxed, bored and minimally decked (numbers preserved!), the crank mains and rod journals ground (.10 under), heads rebuilt and the connecting rods checked and fitted with new .40 oversize pistons. The intake also has been cleaned. Bob has acquired almost everything we will need to complete our rebuild. Our plan is to begin work at our friend Paul Strout's garage/workshop first week of September.

1964 Chevy Impala 283 Engine
This is a 1964 Chevrolet Impala engine that has been professionally rebuilt in 2009 by Classic Showcase, in Oceanside, CA. The restoration and building of this engine has been well documented, and be made available for the new owner. This engine has only a few thousand miles of city driving, and the reason it is being offered for sale is the customer decided to upgrade and have Classic Showcase build and install a 409 engine in his Impala.

Cylinder Bore Honing - Engine Building Video - Hone Piston Wall
Buy the "Basic Engine Building" DVD http://store.boxwrench.net/Basic-Engine-Building-DVD_p_8.html Basic Engine Building DVD - Chapter 28: Honing And finally we come to the main part of the machine shops job, honing the cylinder walls. It will do two things. First it will bring the cylinder walls to the matching diameter of the new pistons. Second it will leave a cross hatch pattern of light scratches, to keep oil on the walls and prevent metal on metal scraping. A dial bore gauge is used to bring it to the exact spec needed within 1/10,000th of an inch. BoxWrench.net is a community and resource designed for automotive enthusiasts. The Basic Engine Building DVD is over three hours of engine building that covers everything from removal and disassembly to final assembly and engine start-up. This is the ultimate DVD for any home mechanic or engine enthusiast that wants to see a complete rebuild from Teardown to Start-Up. This video can be used to learn how to work on almost any type of internal combustion engine including V8, V6, Straight 8, in-line 6 and even 4 cylinder engines. All of the interactive features and menus will not work over YouTube. This video is great for people interested in car repair, car care, and restoration.
