'90 Subaru Loyale 0-60 MPH (16.08s)
Decided to finally do a 0-60 test in my Loyale, haha. Test was done in FWD. Stock EA82 (90 HP @ 5200 RPM, 101 ft-lbs @ 2800 RPM) No A/C No power steering 5-speed dual range 4WD Slight engine misfire Small Exhaust leak Cold idle problem Lots of wheel spin in first gear. I couldn't go flat-out until second gear. Second and third were pretty smooth. Once I got to 60 MPH, I just skipped fourth and put it directly in fifth (in case you're wondering). All in all, came to just over 16 seconds. Much better than the 0-60 test I did in my old EA81: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZiGNmSvFto I kept my shifts at about 5000 RPM. Although this is not even to the peak horsepower rating, I find that revving higher than that is just lost power. And besides, since this is a boxer engine, it's more about the torque than horsepower.
300+ HP Subaru Loyale Wagon
A 1990 Subaru Loyale wagon with a tuned up EJ255 from a 2007 WRX. Drivetrain sourced from a Subaru XT. The bad part is that this engine was only in the car temporarily. It was soon installed into a much newer Subaru, which means no more videos. I really wish I had been able to get more footage! This car belonged to my Subaru enthusiast buddy, I film many different vehicles as well as my own.
