1978 Datsun 120y (B210) Coupe. MX5 1.8 vvt engine
280ZX front struts converted to coilover and 280Zx vented disc brakes. Axle is Ford English shortened with plated diff and Quaife shafts converted to 114.3 Datsun PCD. rear brakes are RS2000 spec 9inch. 250lb front springs, leaf springs have extra leaf fitted plus axle has tramp bars. Engine is standard Mazda MX5 apart from modified plenum to increase volume and ported intake runners. 150ish BHP

July 1974 Datsun 120Y 4 door Sedan, which is known in some markets as a B-210 or Honeybee - it started life as a A12/3 speed Auto/H145 diff car - it's now is a B310 (Sunny) A12/ smoothcase four speed and BW68 diff in it as well as late model Australian 120Y sedan front suspension as well the original A12 engine was seized... so I updated as much of it as I could to Aussie late model 120Y Sedan mechanicals

A walk around my Datsun 120y Coupe and start-up with idle. Suggestions welcome
This was just after a nice tune of the carburettor ----------------------------------------------- Easy way to tune the carburettor on a datsun 120y: ----------------------------------------------- 1. With the engine fully warm turn the fuel/air mixture screw all the way in and then back it off by 2 turns (and tighten the idle in about 4-8 turns) 2. Start the engine and set the idle to as low as possible 3. Slowly start backing out the fuel/air mixture screw antil the revs dont change anymore 4. Turn the fuel/air mixture screw back in half a turn 5. The idle should be higher than 1k rpm 6. Just lower this idle down to 650/750 7. You have a well tuned engine
