DirtyImpreza.com - Project Rally RS Episode 3 - Rollcage
In this episode of the DirtyImpreza.com Project Rally RS (PRRS) build we cover the events from much of 2008. The 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS was stripped down, seam welded, caged, painted, and re-assembled with a donor motor and transmission from another 2001 2.5RS. The roll cage was constructed by Jackson Rally and is Rally America and NASA compliant (built to FIA Article 253 specs). It has been overbuilt in some areas for extra safety and rigidity. The shell has been seam welded around the struts, transmission tunnel, cabin floor, and wheel wells. The roof skin was replaced with a JDM roof to completely delete the USDM sunroof option. Its been a long year, but finally we have a running rally car! There are still numerous smaller projects that need to be tackled before this car is stage rally ready, but some of the biggest milestones have already been reached. Thanks goes out to Kyle at Jackson Rally for his amazing fabrication work, Scott at California Auto Collision for painting the inside of the car, and the dedicated DirtyImpreza.com members who tirelessly helped to get this car where it is today. Note: For those of you who may have been following the build this episode might be a bit confusing, and you may ask Where did this other RS come from? Basically, the original 2.5RS was scrapped because it had extensive rust, and a severely damaged frame (which was revealed during its initial tear down). The decision was made to buy another identical 2001 2.5RS with a blown motor but no frame damage or rust, and transplant the vitals from the other car into this one. E92 M3 Track Car Build by Turner Motorsport
This black 2008 M3 coupe was brought to us by it's owner with only 4,600 miles on the clock. He asked us to transform his M3 from a street car into a dedicated track beast, custom built to his needs. It received a TMS fabricated "standard" race/track cage setup, MOTON coilovers, full race Exhaust (with cat-delete), software, TMS Power Pulley, carbon fiber roof (car originally had a sunroof with steel panel), Forgeline 18x10" non-staggered race wheels with 275 width Hoosiers, custom built center console, retained iDrive (strictly monitoring engine oil level and other electronic features), BMW Performance Steering wheel, fire extinguishing system, racing harnesses, baseline suspension setup, and many many more features and products. The end result: This M3 is FAR lighter than a standard "street" E92 M3, and benefits from added horsepower and torque over stock. After some track time and dialing in of both the car and driver, this Turner-built E92 M3 will be the ultimate weapon for track days. The Civic Build part 02
once again, me and my cousin building up our civic EGs. This is part 02 of the "series". Its kinda short but oh well, its not like we've done THAT much to them. So far I got my car up and running. I'm going 8 psi on stock internals... lets see how long that will last xD. I've been doing mostly body work to it to see if I can get it sprayed soon. My cousin on the other hand has a lot of work to do. starting with his motor. An LS/V-tec built for 20 pounds. Hes got most of his forged internals, hes just missing two or three parts then its off to the machine shop to get the block bored 10 over, but his main focus right now is on getting his roll cage in so he can paint his car and assemble it. Yea... its kinda short. I know... part 03 will make up for that.
