Turbo Diesel Mini Bike
Start at 2:13 to skip the intro, or click here for a helmet-cam ride:
This is an idea I've had since I was a kid, and after watching Mike Cberts
Diesel mini bike video I was inspired to put together my own! The frame
has been around since I was 4 years old! At that point it was powered by a
3 hp Briggs and Stratton and is a Fox corporation, Trail Bug probably from
the 60's or early 70's. The engine is a copy of a 10 hp Yanmar single
cylinder Diesel engine and the turbo is
similar to the one on my Honda CX-500 turbo motorcycle. The engine runs at 3,600 rpm
max and top speed so far is 39.3 mph.
Here's a description of 2 stroke & 4 stroke Diesel engines:
1981 VW Rabbit Diesel LS Mk1 low 37,000 miles
Here is my 1981 VW Rabbit Diesel LS with about 37,000 original miles. My
dad purchased it from the original owners daughter about 8 years ago. The
original owner was an Army Colonel and lived on an army base. He was
usually chauffeured around the base, and only drove the car when he was on
leave. The car is not perfect, but is an honest original example, with
original paint and interior.
Volkswagen Rabbit 1.6 Diesel
My brand new 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit 1.6 Diesel. 52 horsepower and 71.5 lb.ft
torque. 5-speed (4th and 5th gears are overdrive!!!) I'm going to convert
it to run on waste vegetable oil and/or biodiesel.
VW Rabbit Turbo Diesel Autocross 6
My friend out on another run. Getting faster! You can see my number (81) on it
this time as I broke my own car. Thanks for letting me finish the day in
your car, bud!
Check out my other vids to see me get this car up on two wheels!
