3.1L 240Z vs. the Ozark Mountains
Some [conservative] horseplay in my 1971 3.1L 240Z before putting my new
race motor away for the winter. This is NOT a performance driving video,
just some fun on an awesome road.
This is first time I've driven the road, so I'm a little more confident
after 3:00. (I found it on Google Earth then trailered my car there.)

Dare to Be Different in a Datsun 240Z
Owner Dave Scholz, shares his connection with a Japanese cult classic that
could easily be regarded as the 911 of Japan. Its iconic beauty, modular
mechanics, and desirability inspired Dave to heed to Datsun's famous racing
campaign of the '70s, "Dare to be different."
American heads spun when the 1970s ultimately snuffed out their beloved horsepower-drunk
muscle cars. As the world watched them squirm for performance, Japan was
busy developing the 240Z to bring a new thrill to American roads using
balance, harmony, and technology.
"Datsun didn't invent the overhead cam engine, or disc brakes, or
independent suspension but it has a habit of incorporating these
sophisticated systems into brilliantly conceived and easily affordable

450hp LS1 1978 Datsun 280Z
One of the coolest imports I've had the opportunity to see in action, this
extremely streetable 1978 Datsun 280z takes it's first trip to the drag
strip to do some testing. The car has an LS1 with heads, cam, and FAST
intake manifold putting down around 450 wheel horsepower! Best 1/8 mile
time was 7.11 for the night.
