1940 Ford Pickup Street Rod
Ford trucks were updated in 1940 as 1/2-ton trucks took on car styling for
the first time in almost 10 years. Ford also produced its 28-millionth
vehicle in 1940. For 1940, 1/2-ton pickups adopted the look of that year's
Standard-series cars -- the first time since 1932 that trucks shared car
styling. This included a V'd grille, pointed hood, and headlights mounted
into the fenders, giving these haulers a modern, classy look.
The truck was bought out of Tampa, Florida, about two years ago. It has
been in Michigan ever since. The truck was built in 2001 by C&C Rod Shop.

Commissioned by the National Street Rod Association and executed by
Evolution Auto out of Port Byron, Illinois this classy 1937 Ford coupe is
practically a State of the Union address for the hot rodding community.
Featuring a world-class OZE body, GM Performance Parts LS1, striking paint
and a welcoming custom interior, this pro-built Ford is fully sorted and
ready for years of enjoyment. Ready to view the street rod scene from the
best seat in the house? Take a closer look at this '37 Ford.
The design team at OZE did a great job keeping the '37 Ford lines in this
body. From the nose to the fender shape to the roofline, the profile is
easily recognizable despite all the smoothing and chopping. Thanks to
masterful prep work, the tasteful Sandlewood Beige and Cashmere White paint
looks great from all angles. Divided by a thin red stripe, the exterior is
simple and elegant.
As a modern street rod build, trim is minimal and carefully chosen. Up
front, an OZE grille is framed by genuine Ford headlights in chrome bezels.
All glass is show quality with adjustable self-parking wipers keeping the
windshield clean. Out back, small oval taillights hang on either side of
the billet license plate frame.
Between the fenders a GM Performance Parts LS1 utilizes a six-bolt main
block, high-lift cam, fuel rails with injectors and symmetrical-port
cylinder heads to produce 350hp and 365lb. ft. of torque while maintaining
20mpg. Up top, body-color injector covers and a painted custom plenum tie
into the exterior paint. At the front, a Street and Performance serpentine
system spins a high output alternator, power steering pump and air
conditioning compressor. The Exhaust
note is courtesy of aluminized headers and Stainless Works mufflers.
Backing the LS1 is a strong 4L65E automatic transmission that channels
power back to the Winters differential with aluminum center section and
3.50 gears. Around the drivetrain, a boxed OZE frame featuring air ride at
all corners hangs a TCI independent front suspension up front and a 4-link
out back. Steering is handled by a variable ration power rack and pinion
setup while braking comes courtesy of MBM-actuated Wilwood calipers at all
corners. Intro wheels in sizes 17x7 and 20x10 wrapped in BFG rubber fill
out the wheel wells.
Inside, a sculpted tan leather interior features Dakota Digital gauges,
Vintage Air A/C, a Secret audio stereo and miles of custom leather and
suede custom work. Surprisingly spacious, this is one of the most
comfortable street rod interiors around.
As a NSRA-sanctioned build, this is a very well documented car. Included in
the sale are the seven months (January -- July 2008) of coverage the car
received from Street Scene -- NSRA's monthly publication. There is also a

example of a modern Show Truck conversion. While retaining the basic
external looks and characteristics of this 58 year old classic automobile,
this now rare '56 Ford F-100 now features virtually all the luxury items

on a 1 Ton Dually Chassis and it's powered by a 400 SBC. The bed is from a
2001 Ford Dually pick-up and it was narrowed substantially to properly meet

In this video I give a full in depth tour of a beautiful American classic,
a 1953 Chevrolet 3100 pickup truck, fully restored with just over 6k miles
on it. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of
this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting
unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the
details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A
thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater

1936 Ford Pickup Street Rod - Wolf in Sheep's Clothing! - SOLD!
Exteriorly, this is a beautiful 1936 Ford pickup painted in House of Colors
Brandywine that has been mounted on a 1997 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer
chassis. There are new front wheels, 245 60R radial tires and has mag
wheels, new ceramic brake pads all four corners, 10 inch sub woofer with
800 watt Amp running gear, motor, and floor pan. It has climate control,
cruise control, power steering, am/fm CD/DVD player w/inside antennae, 4
wheel power disk brakes, 18 gallon (factory) gas tank, and a computerized
factory Ford V-8 5 liter engine in excellent condition.
The body is steel except for the rear fenders which are fiberglass. It has
a walnut and stainless steel bed. Both the running boards and wheel wells
have a thick layer of undercoating. There are several skull appointments
such as headlights and taillights, steering wheel cover, skull valve stem
covers, license plate frames and metal inside adornments.
The overall truck length has been extended by 12 inches and the width by 8
inches which accommodates the extended cab and shows off the custom grill.
Further, the dash has been narrowed 6 inches, it has 5 windows and the
standard windshield wiper, a sun/moon roof that flips up, a soft tan
interior with 3-D custom flame door panels, popper door locks, a hidden
trailer hitch (under the license plate) and an alarm system.
This is a very very comfortable extended driving sport truck. You could get
in and drive anywhere in the continental U.S. with no problems.
We previously sold this truck and now the buyer has become a seller who is
interested in yet another vehicle. He has made several upgrades in the
approximate 1 year he has owned the truck. We will be sharing those with
you soon. Also, the video is not new and will be replaced with an updated
video featuring the upgrades.
