Lsx 240sx Project Update, Fitting body, radiator!
After not touching the car for about a month i finally decided to get to work on it a little. bolted on the radiator support and got the hood all latched. Dont want it flying up again! (check out the video lol) Just got the radiator in the car and all plumbed up cherry. And fitted the fiberglass fenders, got them lined up and the headlights installed. Just need to make a bumper reinforcement bar and it should be good to as far as the front end goes. Now it needs Exhaust and a muffler! (next video)

In pursuit of more traction i bought the PBM rear drop knuckle with the dual caliper brackets so i can run an independent hydraulic hand brake. The insall seemingly was going great but then it took a turn for the worse...

Yank it out! Pulling out the 6.0 :(
The 6.0 i have been running this whole season 5 or so months and 6+ events. Finally decided to show some wear - not sure if it was actually necessary to yank it out because it might have lasted a little bit longer, but i think i might have saved the crank, rods, ect.. The whole point of this video was to portray the "drift lifestyle". I feel a lot of people have attempted this topic and failed. I feel that i started out on a good note when i had my friend helping me video. As the night went on, he got tired and went home, I stayed up and yanked the motor apart. The following few days or so i was at the shop working on it by myself ( like most of the time ). I find it really hard when im in the "heat of the moment" to stop and pick up the video camera. When i start working on something i usually just wanna get it done. I had the opportunity to take apart a Corvette C5 Z06 transmission (the T56 transmission). I thought people would like to see what it looks like, how the gears work and how the synchros (gear selection) works.





How to remove a RB25 transmission (240sx)
Smurf Man removing a rear wheel drive transmission with steps in description it gets really tight Clutch was completely blown.. Steps.. informational only. do at your own risk 1 remove driveshaft 2 place jack under transmission to secure it 3 unbolt mounts 4 drain oil 5 remove shifter 6 remove slave cylinder ( not shown but very basic ) 7 lower jack ( this tilts the engine ) until the 2 top bolts are shown 8 with at least a 5 foot extension and universal joint unbolt top bolts (14mm) 9 work your way around the transmission ( refer to manual ) 10 twist and turn tranny till it slides off ( be careful ) then place it onto your $300 skateboard...





GTO MN12 T56 rebuild, Brog Warner, Tremec, Hurst shift knob
Well all new syncrho blocking rings (all three pieces each) Even the hard to get 1-2 outer rings (got it from Nalley GM). All new bearings circlips, snap rings, seals, etc.. Amazon elcheepo shifter, and hurst shift knob. This will be going into my 2004 Colorado with a 4.8L V8. Master rebuild kit from Gear Box ORG Main end play 0.0015" Counter end play 0.0015" Counter extension end play 0.0045" Special Tools: 20 ton shop press Snap ring pliers circlclip pliers torque wrench dial indicator and magnetic base Punches, hammer basic hand tools M12 ready rod (counter shaft shim tool) That's about it, and three days time if you are a beginner, and need to thoroughly clean and paint everything, I even sand blasted the case!





Transmission to Engine Install - LQ4 and T56
I wont even say watch in HD... haha. This video is another one of those videos that I probably didnt need to make. But I did anyway. Lots of those... I wanted to show how useful a trans jack could be, as well as how I mate the engine and trans together out of the car. BUT...as you can see it did not go smoothly. The last time I put the trans on the motor, the motor was in the car. While swinging on the hoist, it adds a little element of difficulty to it I believe. Because I couldnt get it to slide in for the life of me. Until I turned the camera off of course. After this, the K-member got bolted up and it was ready for headers and install into the car!!!
