Extreme AMPHIBIOUS Russian offroad vehicle: Aton-Impulse VIKING-2992

4x4xAMPHIBIOUS, VIKING combines the best of extreme off-road with internal floatation and water-jet powered amphibious capability. The ATON IMPULSE VIKING-2992 is a unique special purpose vehicle, ideal for heavy industry, exploration, arctic use, flood-relief, NGOs, rescue and emergency services. VIKING is the only amphibious off-road vehicle in the world to have passed through certification to meet UN/ECE regulations for unrestricted ON-ROAD USE. VIKING's world-leading amphibious capabilities are based around its purpose-designed flotation construction, centrally mounted engine and powerful water-jet propulsion enable it to ford open water at speeds of up to 15 km/h. The vehicle's wheels may be optionally engaged while in amphibious mode, providing unique ability to cope with shallow water and to transit the challenging littoral zone, where other vehicles commonly become stuck in soft mud. Off-road, VIKING is overwhelmingly superior to comparable amphibians, with cross-country ability akin to tracked vehicles. High maneuverability, turn-over resistance and endurance provide safety and comfort in remote or hazardous areas. With a curb weight of only 1.46 tonnes, riding on giant 1300x600x533 tires, VIKING's exceptionally low ground pressure enables it to "float" on soft snow surfaces and avoids damage to sensitive environments. VIKING has independent pneumatic front and rear wheel suspension with adjustable clearance and a tire air-pressure adjustment system operable from the cab while driving the vehicle. VIKING's is designed for security and endurance rather than high speed, which in any case is hazardous on rough terrain. Top speed on-road is 50 mph at 16.8 mpg; off-road at 11.8 mpg, currently limited by the tires (cost $700 each) speed rating. ATON IMPULSE is bringing out new, higher-speed rated, custom tires, as well as bullet proof tires. More powerful engine models will be fitted in future models. В результате неправильных действий механика-водителя танк крепко застрял в грязи и ему не удалось вырваться из плена грязи. Russian ALL TERRAIN military vehicle drives on snow swamp mud water and land better than 4WD
A screw-propelled vehicle is a land or amphibious vehicle designed to cope with difficult snow and ice or mud and swamp. Such vehicles are distinguished by being moved by the rotation of one or more auger-like cylinders fitted with a helical flange that engages with the medium through or over which the vehicle is moving. Modern vehicles called Amphirols and other similar vehicles have specialised uses. The weight of the vehicle is typically borne by one or more pairs of large flanged cylinders; sometimes a single flanged cylinder is used with additional stabilising skis. These cylinders each have a helical spiral flange like the thread of a screw. On each matched pair of cylinders, one will have its flange running clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. The flange engages with the surface on which the vehicle rests. Ideally this should be slightly soft material such as snow, sand or mud so that the flange can get a good purchase. An engine is used to counter-rotate the cylinders—one cylinder turns clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. The counter-rotations cancel out so that the vehicle moves forwards (or backwards) along the axis of rotation. The principle of the operation is the inverse of the screw conveyor. A screw conveyor uses a helical screw to move semi-solid materials horizontally or at a slight incline; in a screw propelled vehicle, the semi-solid substrate remains stationary and the machine itself moves. Four-wheel drive, All-wheel drive, AWD, 4WD, or 4×4 ("four by four") is a four-wheeled vehicle with a drivetrain that allows all four wheels to receive torque from the engine simultaneously.[1][2][3][4] While many people typically associate the term 4x4 with off-road vehicles and Sport utility vehicles, powering all four wheels provides better control than normal road cars on many surfaces,[citation needed] and is an important part in the sport of rallying. In abbreviations such as 4×4, the first figure is normally the total wheels (more precisely, axle ends, which may have multiple wheels), and the second, the number that are powered. Syntactically, 4×2 means a four-wheel vehicle that transmits engine power to only two axle-ends: the front two in front-wheel drive or the rear two in rear-wheel drive.[5] By this system, a six wheeled military transport truck would be a 6×6, while the typical American semi-truck tractor unit having two drive axles and a single unpowered steering axle would be a 6×4. Airless tire From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Airless tire Non-pneumatic tires (NPT), or Airless tires, are tires that are not supported by air pressure. They are used on some small vehicles such as riding lawn mowers and motorized golf carts. They are also used on heavy equipment such as backhoes, which are required to operate on sites such as building demolition, where tire puncture is likely. Tires composed of closed-cell polyurethane foam are also made for bicycles and wheelchairs. The main advantage of airless tires is that they cannot go flat, but they are far less common than air filled tires. Airless tires generally have higher rolling resistance and provide much less suspension than similarly shaped and sized pneumatic tires. Other problems for airless tires include dissipating the heat buildup that occurs when they are driven. Airless tires are often filled with compressed polymers (plastic), rather than air. Michelin is currently developing an integrated tire and wheel combination, the "Tweel" (derived from "tire" and "wheel," which, as the name "Tweel" suggests, are combined into one new, fused part), that operates entirely without air. Michelin claims its "Tweel" has load carrying, shock absorbing, and handling characteristics that compare favorably to conventional pneumatic tires. Automotive engineering group of mechanical engineering department at Clemson University is developing a low energy loss airless tire with Michelin through the NIST ATP project. Resilient Technologies and the University of Wisconsin--Madison's Polymer Engineering Center are creating a "non-pneumatic tire", which is basically a round polymeric honeycomb wrapped with a thick, black tread. Rinspeed's first underwater Car
Rinspeed will present its new sQuba, the worlds first diving car, at the Geneva Motor Show (March 6-16). The car is not only able to drive on roads autonomously with a push of a button (thus without a driver, passenger or further assistance), but can also transform into an amphibious vehicle which can be submerged in water up to 10 meters (33 feet). An electric motor with powerful torque drives the rear wheels, while the propulsion on the water is ensured by two propellers in the stern and two powerful jet drives in the bow propelling the vehicle under water while diving. When underwater, the driver and passenger are enclosed in the vehicle thanks to light weight body components made of futuristic Carbon Nano Tubes and are supplied with fresh breathing air by the self-contained on-board system.
