1988 Saab SPG Exhaust sound

3" Magnaflow Exhaust. I was bored and decided to see what it sounds like from behind. Mods: Jak Stoll Performance Stage 2 fuel chip Swedish Dynamics Stage 3 APC 34lb. injectors 18"x12"x3" bar and plate custom Intercooler K&N cone filter ClutchNet Stage 3 clutch kit (junk) 3" Magnaflow race cat. and Exhaust (straight-thru muffler) Intrax springs Bilstein shocks EBC brakepads as of Christmas 2008 its gone through 2 ClutchNet clutches, and 2 transmissions. the car is all torn apart and has a new transmission and Sachs clutch waiting to go in.... probably in the springtime when all the snow melts. To do: 3" downpipe (I know, I know) turbo upgrade (T3/60, T3/Super60, T3/T4 hybrid, Holset HX35 perhaps..)

Specs: Stock T16 block and head Refurbished Mitsubishi TE05-12B 3" Stainless downpipe with Racecat. 2.5" Abbott Racing catback Simmons Twinpipe tailpipe (welded on the Abbott pipe) Trionic 5.5 motor management (Stage 3, 240hp / 375nm estimated)

1989 Saab 900 Turbo Glasspack Exhaust
Stock Exhaust piping, but de-catted with a w-core glasspack muffler manufactured from a local Exhaust shop. The sound isn't quite captured the way it should be. You can't completely hear the low tone the Exhaust resonates at idle and lower RPM's. As normally said by people, it does sound a lot better in person. Video was taken using QIK from an EVO 4G.

On August 15th 2010, we drove a MY84 Saab 900 T16 and a MY88 Saab 900 Aero up and over the Stelvio Pass; also formally known as the 'best driving road in the world' (Jeremy Clarkson - Top Gear). Besides the fact that we had to cope with rain, hail and the occasional campervan, it was a delight and the best day ever spent in an old Saab.
