1986 Chevy 305 V8 PARTIAL ENGINE OVERHAUL
***I realize I didn't need to torque the timing cover bolts down, I just
did it for the vid, also the start up at the end of the vid was NOT the
first start up.*** This is a 1986 Chevy C10. We only did a partial
overhaul, just a new cam, lifters, water pump, timing chain, gears, a new
gas tank and different 4-barrel carb was also installed, and just some
other smaller parts. Thanks for watching and please subscribe

How to Break In A New or Rebuilt Engine - EricTheCarGuy

I'm sure there is more than one way to do this but this is the way that I
was taught and it seems to work as intended. The idea is to make sure the
engine is fully lubricated before you start it up for the first time as we
know all too well what happens to an engine without oil, in fact I forgot
to show me filling up the oil filter with oil before I installed it sorry.

I've been meaning to make a slideshow like this forever, timeline of my Camaro since the day i
bought it until the present. 305 TBI
Replacing valve stem seals in 305 H.O. small block chevy from 1986 Monte Carlo SS
I'm putting the original 305HO back in the Monte after taking the ZZ3 out
for my Iroc project. This is mainly to make the car mobile but it may end
up tagged with this engine for a while. Previous owner reported that this
305 has over 100k miles on it and has been out of the car since 1997. He
said it smoked during startup and sure enough the valve stem seals were
worn out. Hopefully this will fix the issue.
305 Chevy running on Engine Stand - Test Run
Finally got home built portable engine stand up and running. Stock 78 305.
Should be putting in next week, big ol' comp cam and double hump heads to
see if i can spin a bearing.
Disassembling the 305 Chevy
I pulled my old 305 from the 1985 Caprice apart this fall. We got to this
point, and haven't bothered to re visit the project, since my new truck has
been taking up all of my time.
