Mobile Dragstrip Part 1
New Years Day, 2010 Mobile Dragstrip was running the cars. Irvington Al.
has a 1/8th mile strip and is sanctioned by the NHRA. Last summer they had
a Pinks All Out race held there and hold several big 1/8th mile races a
year there. I just happened to pass by and really have no idea if it was a
Test and Tune day or if they intended to race. I left about 4:30 and none
of the cars had put a dial-in on their window by then. If anyone that sees
this happens to know, please leave a comment and let me (us) know. Thanks!!
Hope you enjoy!!
4 Jet Car Drag Race
Under the definition of "awesome" should be a picture of 4-jet cars racing!
NMRA/NMCA All Star Nationals at ZMax Dragway in Charlotte, NC ended the
night by lighting up ZMax's 4 drag lanes with the fire and the thunder of 4
jet turbine drag cars creating an estimated 24,000 HP on one track! The
Embry Riddle dragster takes off and runs a 5-second quarter.
Bullrun 2009 - Mobile Dragstrip - McLaren SLR Roadster
Zack and Josh Kerr rallied their McLaren SLR Roadster during Bullrun 2009.
This is footage of them ripping off the fastest times of the day and new
track record at Mobile Dradstrip in Irvington, Alamaba.
Josh Kerr is driving during the out-of-car footage and Zack is driving
during the in-car foortage.
The McLaren SLR was arguably "the" most impressive car on Bullrun in 2009.
JMS Mustang Wreck at the Dragstrip (Overpowered Mustang Crash, Wheelie gone bad drag race)
Wreck occurred at the Mobile Dragway while testing for the Big Dog
Shootout, September 2004.
Driver: Chris Johnson (not injured)
It is by the grace of God that I was not seriously injured in this wreck
(outside of blood in both eyes).
Reasons that I can come up with for the wreck.
There were multiple that I could come up with (everyone will have their own
thoughts, all I can say is that once it was on the wall....I was along for
In an attempt to slow down this car(so I would stop winning) the rules for
the big dog shootout changed.
Wheelie Bars were outlawed, as you can see the track was very narrow....it
took just a split second for the car to move out of the groove onto the
The pass before this, the vehicle stood straight up and slammed down.
We checked out the car but might have missed something (bent strut, etc)
I should have got out of it the second it made the move left.
We were testing on "street tires" for the first time, it might have
contributed to the move left.
Vehicle was constructed by JMS Chip and Performance (www.jmschip.com)
JMS assembled a 635ci NA engine using a Ford Racing A460 Block and TFS A460
