Muscle Truck vs. Baja Bug! 1974 Chevy C10 Battles Fred's Volkswagen Baja Bug - Roadkill Ep. 28
Remember the drag racing '74 Chevy Muscle Truck from Roadkill Episode 18? It's back, but with a twist: it's gonna become a true dual-sport ride for surf and turf, shedding its drag slicks for Super Swamper Boggers and hitting the sand dunes...hard! And to prove that a lowered, two-wheel-drive pickup can dominate the dunes, Freiburger and Finnegan set up a shootout with Fred Williams from the Dirt Every Day series on the Motor Trend channel. Fred brought out his '69 VW Baja Bug from DED Episode 23 and went head to head with the Muscle Truck on the beach at Pismo, California. The Roadkill/HOT ROD Magazine Muscle Truck is a '74 Chevy C10 shortbed, stepside, with a GM LS6 crate engine (like the all-aluminum V8 found in a C6 ZO6 Corvette). It's stock other than a small crane cam, midlength headers, and a new addition for this episode: MSD's Atomic EFI (the truck used to run a carburetor). The Atomic setup is atop a BBK intake manifold, and uses a stock LS1 throttle body. That legendary Exhaust sound comes from 3-inch pipe with 4-inch Dynomax Bullet race mufflers. The truck's transmission is a JW turbo 400 backed by a Gear Vendors over/underdrive unit. And it really needs overdrive because the Ford 9-inch rear carries 5.13 gears and a spool. The suspension features dropped spindles and Ridetech Strong Arms and air bags up front. In the rear, two leaves were removed from the stock spring packs, they were flipped under the axle, and traction is delivered by Caltrac's bars. 2015 BMW i8: Is i The New M? - Ignition Ep. 115
On this episode of Ignition - Presented by Tire Rack, Motor Trend’s senior features editor Jonny Lieberman takes a hard look at the new plug-in hybrid performance car from BMW, the crowd stopping i8. The electrification of the sports car is upon us, and BMW’s wild looking entry features a puny turbocharged three-cylinder behind the driver that powers the rear wheels, as well as a potent electric traction motor motivating the fronts. Does the layout sound familiar? It should, because that’s how Porsche constructed the 918 Spyder. Can the lightweight, carbon fiber i8 deliver half the fun of the big bad Porsche at approximately one eighth the price? Stay tuned to find out! 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport vs 2013 Lexus GS350 F Sport! - Head 2 Head Ep. 45
The 2013 Lexus GS F Sport has taken down the likes of the BMW 535i, Audi A6 and Infiniti M37 in previous comparisons, and is our reigning king of the luxury performance sedan segment. The new 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport brings two turbos, over 100 more horsepower, and a history of excellent track-day capability to the table, but weighs over 100 lbs. more than the Lexus. Can the light, balanced, and nimble Lexus hold its own against the American powerhouse Cadillac CTS V Sport? On this episode of Head 2 Head, Jonny Lieberman takes both cars to the testing grounds, canyon roads, and finally the racetrack to find out. Redline Review: 2014 Cadillac CTS V-Sport
With the smaller ATS now in the lineup, the 2014 Cadillac CTS is finally free to move up-market in size, power, and prestige. The all-new third-generation CTS showcases a lot of firsts for the Cadillac brand. The first twin-turbo engine, 8-speed transmission, and a plethora of luxury and technology makes this one of the best mid-size luxury sedans money can buy. If you want the best handling vehicle in the segment, look no further, your sport sedan has arrived.

2014 Cadillac CTS V Sport Review and Road Test
Check out my other videos! http://vid.io/xqoB Who is Alex? Find out here! http://vid.io/xqoF Let's be honest, it has been quite some time since Cadillac has been "the Cadillac" of anything. With the 2014 CTS V-Sport, Cadillac is aiming to turn the clock back to Cadillac's heyday. The 2014 V-Sport isn't the value option in the segment and it isn't even the cheapest option when you really think about it. Instead Cadillac has done something that many detractors thought impossible for an American brand: they quite simply made the better sedan. The 2014 V-Sport may bring a V6 to a V8 fight, but after a week with Caddy's new sport sedan it was easy to pick the winner. Unless you're looking to deck your BMW, Mercedes or Audi up with rare and expensive options, the CTS does just about everything the Germans can only better. Are you shocked? I was. 2014 Cadillac CTS 2.0T Review and Road Test
Check out my other videos! http://vid.io/xqoB Who is Alex? Find out here! http://vid.io/xqoF It's been decades since Cadillac produced the "Cadillac" of anything. However, when car buffs dismiss the only American luxury brand left, they fail to see Cadillac's march forward. 2002 brought the first RWD Cadillac since the Fleetwoood. A year later the XLR roadster hit, followed in 2004 by Cadillac's first 5-Series fighter, the STS. Not everything was rosy. The original CTS drove like a BMW but lacked charm and luxury fittings. The XLR was based on a Corvette, which made for excellent road manners, but the Northstar engine didn't have the oomph. The STS sounded like a good idea, but the half-step CTS wasn't much smaller and ultimately shoppers weren't interested in a bargain option. That brings us to the new ATS and CTS. Ditching the "more car for less money" mantra, the ATS has been created to fight the C/3/IS leaving the CTS free to battle the E/5/GS head-on. Can Caddy's sensible new strategy deliver the one-two punch fans have hoped for? I snagged a CTS 2.0T for a week to find out. I found the outgoing CTS a little discordant, but 2014 brings an elegant more aggressive refresh. GM's Art and Science theme has matured from "cubism gone wrong" to shapes that flow and jibe with a larger grille and softer creases. The 5-Series continues to go for elegant and restrained, I find the XF and A6′s design a mixture of plain-Jane and snazzy headlamps while the Infiniti Q5o and Lexus GS are going for flowing elegance. The demur side profile continues with a simple character line to draw your eye from front to rear. One thing you'll notice during that eye-movement is the distinct RWD proportions that separate the CTS, E, 5, GS, XF and Q50 from the long-nosed Audi A6 and near-luxury FWD options. Out back the CTS' rump is a bit less exciting but employs all the latest luxury cues from hidden Exhaust tops to light piped tail lamps. I was hoping Caddy's fins would be further resurrected, but the "proto fins" on the XTS are absent. Pity. Obvious from every angle is an attention to build quality absent from earlier generations with perfect panel gaps and seams. Unfortunately, the first thing you'll notice out on the road is the coarse sound from under the hood. GM's 2.0L engine is no less refined than BMW or Mercedes' four-bangers, but the difference is you can hear the engine in the CTS. In fact, based on the overall quietness of the cabin (a competitive 67 dB at 50 MPH), I can only conclude that Cadillac designed the engine to be heard. I don't mind hearing the 3.6L V6, but most luxury shoppers would prefer not to be reminded they chose the rational engine every time they get on the freeway. On the bright side, because GM does not offer start/stop tech, shoppers are spared the inelegant starts and stops that characterize 528i city driving. While I'm picking nits, the 6-speed found in the 2.0T and most 3.6 models lacks the ratio spread and shift smoothness of the ZF 8-speed automatic found in most of the competition. The reason I label those flaws as mere nits is because of how the CTS accomplishes every other task on the road. Acceleration to 60 happens a 4/10ths faster than an E350, a half-second faster than the 528i, a full second faster than a GS350, and practically years ahead of the A6 2.0T. Part of this has to do with the engine's superior torque curve and higher horsepower numbers, but plenty has to do with curb weight. At 3,616 lbs, the CTS 2.oT is 200lbs lighter than the BMW or Lexus, 400lbs lighter than an E350. The comparable Audi A6 would be the front-wheel-drive 2.0T model with the CVT at 3,726. If you think that's an unfair comparison, the 2.0T with Quattro is 3,900lbs and does little to correct the A6′s front-heavy weight balance.

World's Greatest Wagon? - /BIG MUSCLE
Owner: • BIG MUSCLE GARAGE Sometimes old cars break, it's just what happens. While some may see this as an inconvenience, we here at /BIG MUSCLE took it as an opportunity to expand our horizons, take a chance, and venture to a place we rarely frequent - the drag strip. Our plan was to film, talk to and get an idea of what racers go through when they run their cars down the 1,320. Everything was going great, until that is, they told us WE could race. We showed up in our 1992 Chevrolet Caprice wagon, aka, the Battle Wagon, so we knew we weren't going to set any records. What we weren't prepared for though, was the amount of fun we'd have running one of the slowest vehicles on the planet, at one of the fastest places in Northern California.

Hemi Buildup on a '55 Chevy Bel Air! - Roadkill Ep. 29
In Episode 8 of Roadkill we introduced you to the greatest engine swap project ever—a Hemi into a 1955 Chevy Bel Air. Nearly two years later, we finally get Mike Finnegan's Mopar-powered Tri-Five on the road, but not without a few problems along the way. Blown head gaskets, frayed wires, and severe sleep-deprivation are all overcome as Finnegan, Freiburger, and friends push to get this polarizing project car running again in time for an epic road trip. The BlaspHEMI '55 Chevy rides on a Jim Meyer Racing Gasser tube chassis with Viking coilover dampers and Firestone Cheater slicks out back. Up front the car has a tubular straight axle, parallel leaf springs and tires small enough to fit on a VW Bug. The rear axle is a John's Industries 9-inch with 5.43:1 gears. The Hemi began life as a 528ci Mopar crate engine, which Finnegan rebuilt with a 0.030-inch overbore, ported aluminum heads, and a Comp Cams solid roller cam. The mill is topped off with a Hilborn stack injection system with EFI controlled by a FAST EFI ECU. An Aeromotive Stealth fuel tank and pump provides the fuel while MSD provides the spark. The engine is backed by a Tremec Magnum six-speed manual gearbox with an American Powertrain installation kit and a twin-disc clutch. The car was wired with a Speedwires kit and the guys built their own fenderwell headers using parts from Hedman. To save weight, the original steel front clip was swapped out for a lightweight fiberglass tilt front end from Unlimited Products and the windows were replaced with lexan parts from ProGlass. The rollcage is a 10-point arrangement built from chrome-moly steel and TIG welded to the floor and frame. To save a ton of time, High Tech Auto Wraps covered the car in flat black vinyl instead of paint while the last of the parts were installed onto the car.
